Deafening pop launches the cork to regions unknown. I won't be seeing it until one of the cats brings it out who knows when. Foam starts to push out whether I'm ready for it or not, so, to the pour!

Huge pile of fluffy cream colored foam consumes half of the Duvel tulip and is very slow to fall, leaving a shiny meringue island in the glass. The beer is a surprisingly murky deep gold-amber with copper hues at the edges. Not a beauty, but interesting nonetheless.

Aroma, as impatient as the foam, hits me before I can get bottle to glass. Wafting tropical fruits and alcohol. Once I can get my nose in it, there is plenty to do. Esters of banana, mango, papaya, pear and apple. Some spicy phenolics (allspice), and floral hops. Sugary malts with suggestions of spice cake and fresh white bread. Alcohol throughout is well integrated with no fusels.

Hits the tongue with rich spice and fruit reminiscent of a good English winter warmer. Orange and allspice with a hint of clove coupled with herbal floral hops. Balance is just a little bitter. Woody drying finish with warming alcohol and tropical fruit lingering after. I should make it clear that all of this spiciness is not like a spiced xmas ale. This is all in the yeast, malt and hops. Full of subtlety with the yeasty esters and phenolics very well blended with the malt and hops. This really hits the profile of a big Belgian Pale Ale that displays a distinct English malt and hop heritage with the unique ester and phenol characteristics of a Belgian yeast.

Medium full body and well carbonated. Nice creamy mouthfeel, big enough to be a little sticky. Full and dry enough to both reward and refresh the palate, but definitely not a quencher. It would almost seem to be a fault that the alcohol is a little assertive for a 7.5%ABV beer, but it is never harsh or boozy and actually adds rather than detracts from the overall mix and balance of flavor.

I have long been a fan of Unibroue, but there beers have been hit and miss for the past few years. Seigneuriale is very much a big hit with me.

Amber ornage colour, 1.5 fingers white head, little lace. Smell is fruit, green apples and ripe banana, signature unibroue yeast, touch of noble hop as well. Taste is like the nose yeasty with lots of fruit, banana, candy apple sweetness balanced by a light bitterness, a bit of spice in the finish, well balanced and quite nice. Medium carbonation, full-medium body. Solid stuff here, a nice belgian pale ale that drinks fairly easy, could see myself having this again.

A - A nice very cloudy amber, with an aggressive head that slowly dissipates, leaving a slight lacing that slowly breaks away.

S - A very nice smelling beer, a deep aroma of spice and a very slight booze scent.

T - A very deep spicy start, with booze breaking in throughout, with a yeasty crescendo, and an almost sour/bitter finish.

M - A bubbly start, that quickly disappears.

O - Solid beer, but was expecting more from this brewer.
