--Came in a standard 341 ml bottle that came in the variety pack
--cloudy, reddish in color. Had a slim head with minor lacing.
--the smell is, obviouslly raspberry but that is very enjoyable and kind of the point.

This beer is not as good as I was expecting. I have had better seasonal fruit beers. I would drink it again but there are better. Thx.

Had this on-tap at Beer Bistro and I could only take a few sips of a half-pint. Initially a bit of pink head that dissipitated, ugly light pinkish yellow colour that I won't say what it resembled to spare you. A sugary artificial aroma. Thin, over-carbonated, kool-aid level raspberry.

750ml bottle poured into tumblers.
Drank on our beer tour of Quebec City.

The color of this brew is a very pleasing rosy amber. Fine foam rises and recedes to a ring. Aroma of raspberries and malt give a good indicaton of what's to come, but the smell is not overpowering or artificial. This is quite a light-bodied brew, a tad watery, quite refreshing and better on the cold side. Nicely dry. Fruity raspberry up front and in the finish, with a crisp dry ale in the middle, lots of fine bubbles. The mouthfeel is very carbonated with a creamy mousse of foam.

I prefer the raspberry flavor in a beer like this to the apple version; somehow this berry seems more suited to beer. A nice and very natural taste, integrates well and makes this quite pleasing when you are loking for a crisp fruit beer. The only downside is the wateriness...a bit more body would be nice.

Appearance – This beer pours a color resembling apple juice. There is a large amount of white frothy head on top.

Smell – The scent of this one is alright. It’s dominated by raspberries as expected. There is a good amount of sweetness to it as well with a touch of yeast.

Taste – Up front the taste is quite sugary. It is followed by raspberry and a slight tart flavor. The aftertaste is slightly sour. This ones flavor was weak…and overall not pleasurable.

Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel was fine…not really anything out of the ordinary. The carbonation wasn’t too high which was nice.

Drinkability – Easy to drink. I wasn’t very attracted to this beer though. I had no motivation to sip again.

This one brings about a big “meh”.

Fruit beers are funny things — sometimes there's too much fruit and not enough beeriness; other times you wonder where the fruit is and why the brewer even bothered.

Raspberry Ephemere suffers from the first affliction. It's too fruity and sweet to be enjoyed in any quantity beyond a small glass or two on its own or maybe with dessert.

It pours cloudy and golden with a pinkish hue. A two-finger head tops a champagne-like bubbly body that's typical of Unibroue. The aroma also has the brewery's unique yeasty stamp on it, though it's dominated by tart raspberries (as you'd expect) and other fruity esters.

The best description of the taste I can come up with is that it's like a slightly alcoholic cream soda. By comparing it to soda pop, I'm also saying this beer is sweet, though the tartness of the raspberries helps rein it in a bit. It's highly carbonated, which is a good fit for this beer.

Pours a hazy pinkish orange, and plenty of off-white head is generated. As I've come to expect from the brewery, head retention is well supported by carbonation.

The smell is musty, tart and sugary. Raspberry is evident, but gives the impression of a raspberry flavoured Sweet-tart type candy more than a natural flavour. Still an interesting smell.

Candy sugar is first and foremost up front, followed by a false-raspberry flavour in the middle. The finish retains some of the raspberry, but also seems to have a sour and bitter mix that doesn't sit very well together. Wheat beer base flavour carries through, but only as a base for the rest.

High carbonation and light body make this a lively beer as far as mouthfeel goes. This one doesn't do it for me though, the only one of the Ephemere line I liked a lot was the black currant.

Bottle: Poured a soft pink color ale with a huge bubbly white head with average retention. Aroma of raspberry is clearly dominant. Taste is overpowered with raspberry syrup, which is not something I generally look for in beers. Seems to me like they have mixed the Blanche de Chambly minus the coriander with raspberry syrup. Like the Cassis one, I find this really lack craftsmanship and resemble more like a beer/fruit soda from Belgium (i.e. Chapeau…) then some highly crafted fruit beer (i.e. New Glarus, Kriek de Ranke).

Poured from a 341 ml foil capped brown bottle that came in the 2006 Unibroue variety pack. A deep, hazy apricot in appearance, with a tight creamy off-white (pinkish) head with consistent retention. Admittedly I'm a sucker for raspberries, so for me this aroma is to die for. The nose is predominantly raspberries, soft and creamy in texture, no real tartness. As much as I adore raspberries, the flavour tends to not live up to what it advertises with the above two categories. The flavour starts out with a quick stab of wheat grains, then of course gets trampled on by tart raspberry, which carries the flavour to an anti-climactic finish which sweetens up with a touch of candi sugar, and fades into a forgetable aftertaste. The mouthfeel is quite thin and watery compared to the Ephemeres of years gone by. In fact this whole thing is quite a let down. Definitely not up to par with what Unibroue has capably proven to us in the past of what they can accomplish. I write it off as the "Sleeman effect", as this version of Ephemere falls short in all the areas that Sleeman's beers tend to lack in as well. A shame.

Sienna color, some deposits. Freshly picked raspberries on the nose.

Mouth but very flat, watery with just a light scent of raspberry.

No aftertaste. No body. In any case, it sounds ephemeral in the mouth. No aftertaste. No body. In any case, it sounds ephemeral in the mouth.

Drank from my Duvel Tulip.

A - Pours a golden colour with small head that dies quickly.

S - Sweet jam aromas of strawberry.

T - Plenty of stawberries and not a lot else.

M - Light body with heaps of fizz.

D - Would not have another but would be ok with Ice cream

Appearance: Hazy peach color, with a large head, which quickly collapses to some scattered foam on the surface.

Aroma: Sharp, tart aroma of raspberries, with toasted malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste: Mildly sweet raspberry notes at the open, these turn progressively more tart as the taste advances. Towards the end of the taste, a wave of mild hop bitterness asserts itself, and raspberry seed flavors appear.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, full, pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: Quite pleasing and drinkable, could be served in place of sparkling wine, would appeal to both beer connoisseurs and those who are not - as yet.

Thanks for the bottle TURG! Hazy brown liquid lays beneath a foamy, slight off-white head. Some lacing left behind. Boquet of fresh raspberries and candy. Marked unibroue yeast in the mouth, with mildly sweet raspberry flavours. Good carbonation. FInish is a tad watery. Pretty good. Merci Francois!
