Pours what could be black, but black doesn't quite describe this color. Black is for stouts...this is more of an extremely dark wood? It has an incredible, thick, fluffy, beige head that seems to be sticking around for a while. No webbing on this one; a solid layer of head sticks to the walls of the chalice. An immense cotton candy-like essence radiates outwards and is followed by malty, fruity, and spicy undertones. Surprisingly floral as well. The taste is complex beyond belief. It starts out sugary (candied sugar) and spicy (cloves for sure) followed by some oak, vanilla, and earthy tones, and finishes with rich bread and malt characteristics. This brew has is full bodied and very rich. Trois Pistole is something else.
