Poured into a Guinness fluted pint glass. Half-inch head, light tan, still some left by the end of the glass. The beer is a dark, but not opaque, brown.
Smells sweet (molasses) and there's an undertone of alcohol, but not in a liquor-type way. It's enticing.
There's a warmth to this beer. It's a high ABV and that comes through, but not in an overpowering way. I get a sticky sweetness with every sip, which was nice at first but became overbearing by the end of the glass. I'd give this beer a higher score up front than in the aftertaste, but I'll round it out to 3.5.
Good body, would like it to be a bit creamier to let the flavors spread over the tongue a bit better, but it's good.
Make no mistake, this is a good beer. It's not the best offering from Unibroue, but it's worth drinking if you have the chance.
