750ml bottle. Sort of the lighter little brother to all those big, bad, dark Belgian ales from the same brewer.
This beer pours a cloudy, medium golden yellow hue, with three fat fingers of thickly puffy, tightly foamy bone-white head, which takes its sweet time melting away, eventually leaving some decent scattered cloud lace around the glass.
It smells right off the bat of spices - cloves and mild white pepper - banana esters, light orange citrus, and a semi-sweet pale grainy wheatiness. The taste is gritty wheat malt, earthy yeast, neutered cloves, mildly tart lemon and orange, banana chips, and a faint earthy, weedy hoppiness.
The carbonation is moderate, after coming down from an initially overbearing frothiness, the body just teasingly close to medium weight, and actually quite smooth. It finishes with a fruity, yeasty, and spicy flourish.
Fairly refreshing overall, especially as the days get warmer and warmer. A very good example of the style - glad it's so easy to find around here, though I still personally prefer Maudite or Trois Pistoles.
