I really WANTED to like this one more. Sadly, it doesn't meet expectations. I guess I just don't like the unibroue house yeast character, as I generally find this brewery's products to be disappointing.
Pours a clear gold. I suppose that's my bad for not stirring the yeast up first. It's been bottle conditioned. Very spritzy, lots of bubbles and a dense head that drops down fairly quickly.
Smell is amazing! Wheaty graininess, bready, malty, with a hint of coriander spice, and some lactic tartness. Maybe there's citrus in the aroma, maybe not. It's subtle. It smells like a wit should.
Taste is just 'OK.' It's definitely got a witbier character - lots of bready malt, and just an ever-so-subtle spice that blends in nicely with the malt. Citrus is more apparent here, but still subtle. It's got a slight tangy tartness to it, and the trademark Unibroue phenolics. Overall - it's OK, but nothing special.
Mouthfeel - it's very spritzy, with a light body. This lightness is enhanced by the acidic tartness. Again - just OK.
Drinkability - nothing special. It's light bodied and tasty, but it doesn't leave you crying for more.

12 oz bottle poured into flute glass. Pours a bright golden color with a good sized white head that dissipates quickly. Lots of cascading bubbles coming to the top throughout the experience.
Smell is citrusy, other light fruits, maybe apricot, coriander, and some additional spices.
Taste is clean with a good balance of hops and wheat along with a strong citrus/orange peel flavor. Finishes with a combination of the fruity yeast and some fresh black peppercorns.
Overall, a great witbier, very refreshing, a great beer in the warmer weather months, but also enjoyable year-round.
