The last Unibroue bottle I will be able to pick up and review on my trip to Canada. I will definitely be grabbing more when I go back home but sadly not at the unbelievable deal of $5 for a pint and a half. This is the least dark, complex, and alcohol content of the 3 I've reviewed, but its nice to try something different.
A- Crisp golden with tons of cloud. Absolutely no light coming through, about as dark as a stout but with gold instead of black. A two finger foam hat appears after the aggressive pour to wake up the sediment. However, it says adios shortly thereafter. Substantial lacing as I take her down.
S- Not the most complex nose I've seen but with the style it stays fairly traditional. The lemon and orange citrus dominate the brew. with some yeast and possibly banana, not sure though.
T- The taste satisfies the nose with the fruity elements bursting in each sip. Still not sure on the banana...maybe...however the lemon is very loud, though not tart but very refreshing. No alcohol bite, which is no surprise only 5%.
MF- Pretty high carbonation and lemon combination feels like a cannonball in my pool on a hot summer day. Top 6 ultimate summer beers and also a top 6 cold winter night could go either way. The cloudiness adds to the fullness of the mouth feel which is very satisfying.
Overall, kick ass. I am partial to darker brew, but to review in accordance with the style I think it was spot on. That being said, I still really enjoy it and will pick one up next time the temp rises. And honestly when compared to blue moon i think it blows it away...but thats just me.
