A: Pours a hazy, golden orange with a massively dense head that displays excellent retention and imparts a web of lace along the sides of the glass.
S: A yeasty, pale malt tripel smell with the quintessential Belgian aroma of sweetness and a bit of funk. Smells delicious.
T: Tasty and balanced, this Belgian interpretation has all the qualities of a tripel, yet stands on its own. The intro is gentle and mild, leading into a twangy hop middle and a rush of bubbles and sweetness. Finish is slightly drying, yet refreshing, and leaves a bit of the bittersweet combination trailing down the back of the mouth.
M: Creamy and crisp, carbonation is quite generous, but not an enhancer, not detractor, of flavor.
D: Very drinkable. The construction of this beer is not only doing a service to Belgian-style ales brewed in North America, but to craft beer in general. Most noticeable to me is the hop character, jumping out, yet blending so well with the overall composition.
