Poured into a tulip glass from a chilled 750ml bottle.
Appearance: Nice slightly cloudy golden/orange color. Fizzy foamy head that didn't retain long or leave any lacing.
Smell: Very sweet and floral with a little underlying spice. Scents of cloves and citrus. Smells delicious.
Taste: Spicy, yeasty, and a tang of citrus. Sweet and slightly dry. Very satisfying taste. An almost perfect example (maybe a perfect example?) of a Belgian Tripel style with just the right mix of sweetness, yeast and spices.
Mouthfeel: A good medium bodied mouth feel with an abundance of tiny carbonation bubbles, but not overly so.
Drinkability: A perfect and very tasty Tripel with outstanding flavor and no strong alcohol taste or warmth for a relatively high ABV brew. Could easily do a session with this one, and I have. For a Canadian made Belgian Tripel style, this is one of the tastiest examples of the style I can think of, beating out several Belgian made Tripels that I like quite a bit. Everything done to perfection for smell, taste and drinkability. You would be hard pressed to find a better Tripel out there.
