Large 750 ml corked bottle into a westmalle chalice
A - a very nice brazen yellow fills the glass, dark like a clover honey; held up to a light the light the color only changes a little bit. the head is big white and bubbly, and fills up the chalice perfectly; the head also dissipates very quickly to a good 2mm covering.
S - there is no way around it, but this beer defintely earns a perfect score here. right up front there is a bouquet of fresh cut apples, and mulling spices, there is a light touch of clover the the back. smells like a carbonated mulled cider to equate it to something else.
T - a fine tripel indeed. a nice sweet malty flavour hits the palate. the sweetness is complemented by an almost wheat like grain taste with some sweetness, fruity notes in the far back. the finish illuminates the alcohol and some spiciness from hops. the aftertaste is at first lingering with alcohol and then the malts set back in and give it a nice sweet finish.
MF&D - the feel is great, a creamy body that is not too thick with a large amount of carbonation. I could drink this into oblivion, which wouldn't be too hard.
