750 ml into a tulip glass (twice) - live review

Just starting to drink and review Belgians so bear with me...

Ap- pours a hazy golden yellow with about a 1/2 head that has ok retention and not much lacing. The carbonation is going strong.

Ar- spice, clove, lemon, orange hit me first, I think I smell some kinda dark fruit too like plum. Can I really be smelling all these things from one beer?

T- I guess I just don't know how to describe Belgians yet...All I can really make out is the spice and the clove taste at the finish.

M- a bit sticky, medium bodied and well carbonated

O- an awesome tripel, I haven't tried many (and I think this is the first I have reviewed) but this one is by far the best. Its smooth, complex and keeps getting better as it warms. And in the 750ml format it is one of the cheapest tripels you can buy, can't go wrong IMO.

Poured into a tulip glass from the 25.4 oz. bottle.

a: Cloudy gold with a solid inch tall head which shrank slowly.

s: Moderate strength citrus.

t: Mildly fruity yeast. Very easy drinking and pleasant. Certainly tastier than any similar Belgian-style summer-beer I have had. The high ABV is totally hidden.

m: Moderate with good body yet refreshing.

o: Exceptional tripel, certainly one of the best if not the best.

Had with Chinese takeout, and sipped the rest of the half bottle (split the bottle with my oldest daughter who was 42 Friday, and even she and my beer-hating wife liked it).

A- Clean orange color that is vibrant and inviting. 2 finger white bubbly head that surprises me by how quickly it dissipates. No lacing or retention. Outstanding color, but the rest of the appearance was very avg.

S- Spice and cloves all over the nose. Bubble gum/banana phenols are almost overwhelming until the floral hops and the musky, yet powdery yeast comes through. Yep, all signs point to this one being a very impressive tripel

T- Taste follows nose with an additional dose of citrus/lemon like qualities. Mild malt with a dash of hops create a nice, moderate bitter character in the finish. No astringency whatsoever. Booze not present but warms the throat.

M- Mid body bordering on light. Effervescent carbonation that's to die for. Leaves your mouth puckering for more. Very drinkable given the abv

O- Top of the line Tripel for sure. It wouldn't be a reach for me to say it is maybe the best I've had yet. Sweet, fruity, complex, and delicious. Seems to have a lot of hefeweizen similarities with the wheat and clove character dominating throughout.
