750ml bottle poured into a pair of large snifters

Pours cloudy straw yellow with a big fluffy pale head that fades to about a quarter inch dense layer. Smell is yeasty, bananas, funk, cloves, sweetness.

Taste is crisp but sweet with nice yeasty flavors and more clove and bananas. Slight tartness to accentuate the sweetness nicely. Tartness probably helps out with the impression of crispness.

Mouthfeel is light and pleasant. Overall, this is very good. A beer that I go back to time and again. I'm very surprised I've never reviewed it.

A-Pours a hazy golden straw color. Head is fluffed and creamy. Head dies off a bit but laces very well.

S-Belgian by design. Fruited yeast notes. Light grassy Noble hop aromas. Sweet malty aroma too. Not exceptionally intense, but there lies a fair amount of complexity. A very textbook Tripel.

T-Also a bit lighter than expected. I enjoy that though, because I find many Tripels to be too yeasty and boozy. This is mellow and exciting. Grassy hops, fruity and yeast. Grains and light spice. Light bitterness. Lingering overall flavor. All-in-all quite tasty.

M-Lighter than the 9% ABV would lead you to initially believe. A bit syrupy, but the carbonation masks up the stickiness a bit. Moderately dry.

O/D-Have had this before. I can see why this is so highly regarded. One of the more drinkable Tripels I have had. Price tag is a bit steep, but its a classic. Canada does Belgium well.

A-Cloudy yellow, some orange as well. Two finger head.

S-Apples, lemon, orange, wheat, grass and apples.

T-Lemon, orange, apples, wheat, some bitterness, mild spices.

M-Medium bodied, nice carbonation.

O-It was a really good beer, however I did not see what everyone is crazy about. I'll have to try it again sometime.

Pours a slightly hazy peach color with a large frothy white head with good retention and lace.

Nose carries notes of light fruit, peach and apple with Belgian yeast and sugar.

Flavor follows the nose in characteristics. Pretty malt forward.

Mouth is medium bodied and very effervescent with very high carbonation.

Overall it's a solid beer. Haven't had it in about a decade. Don't need to have it again any time soon.

Pours a beautiful golden color with a frothy white head, good retention and nice lacing.

Smells of sour yeast and banana. A fairly clean nose.

Taste is banana up front with a nice chewy bready malt middle. A very nice sting from the carbonation with some bitter spice notes - clove. An excellent beer, maybe not a lot going on, but the few notes are played excellently and come together in a beautiful harmony of flavor.

Colour is a medium gold, very hazy. Tried without yeast then with addition, which proved a positive development. This had surprising little lacing, was expecting more.

Aroma has corn, maltiness, with plenty of nice spice. Alcohol esters are blended and masked with green apple, yeast, and berry aromas.

Taste and mouthfeel of this are exceptional. Maintains a nice crispness of carbonation hiding the alcohol well. Flavour is very well balanced, with strong malt, full bodied with a great complexity. Slight lemon, resin, slight alcohol esters.

Will get it again.
