Best before 10/2014. Sharp, tart, yeasty nose. Strong banana and clove aromas. Pours golden with a bit of haze. Two-finger head sitting on top after pour settles out.

Puckering taste at entry. High alcohol noticeable right away. Estery bite next to the alcohol. Nice bright carbonation. Acidic taste left on the lips. Very dry finish.

Drinks easier and easier as you get deeper into the bottle! (No surprise there...)

“Nose: Floral bouquet, aromas of honey, spice, coriander, malt, and alcohol. Flavor: Mildly yeasty with a complex palate of malt, fruit and spice notes followed by a smooth, dry finish.”

Overall: B+, understated tripel

Poured from a bottle into a snifter glass.

Look – light golden in color, mixed with amber. It’s a bit hazy with about two fingers’ worth of thick off-white colored foam that dissipates somewhat slowly.

Smell – a rich, spicy/herbal type of smell..thick with complex malts and hops.

Taste – as with the smell, it has a very rich and complex taste. It has a mix of herbalness and spiciness. The bitterness from the hops starts in the middle of the taste and slowly blends to a mild intensity in the finish, but the aftertaste is a little bubbly like champagne.

Mouthfeel – very well balanced, leaning neither on the watery nor on the creamy sides.

Overall – very interesting brew, with a very intriguing taste.

Poured into a Birra Moretti goblet. Burping added a little interference to this one, as I'd had beer brats made with a few bottles of Narragansett for supper earlier (and they were
delicious).

A: Honey golden with light platinum gold highlights. Rich stuff. Poured with two+ inches of creamy white foam which shrank away quickly. Foam clings for dear life to the sides of the glass. Attempts to retain free will as individual glob of foam. Some does for a while, but all are re-assimilated back into the colony eventually. There is no escape.

S: Yeasty with notes of banana and citrus.

T: Sweet banana and cloves with a little hop spice on the backend, all amid a faint haze of alcohol, with a citrus tingle that hangs around at your house after the party is over
and shyly asks if you want to make out. Flavors sharpen as the brew warms.

M: Creamy and a touch on the thick side.

O: Been a while since I've had a really fantastic beer. I mean, I got a lot of good beer over the holidays, but nothing that really made me crave another one immediately afterward.
A fantastic beer and one I look forward to having again soon.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with golden brown highlights. A huge pure white head forms and leaves some chunky lacing.

Smell is yeasty, with lemon zest and spice notes that make me happy. Some apple skin is also present.

Taste is at first citrus and tangy yeast. The middle has some malt, and the whole taste has a nice peppery flavor.

Upon first drinking there is a lemony bite to the tongue. Other than that, the beer is nice and smooth. A medium body is lightened up by great bubbly carbonation.

I have enjoyed this beer for years, and will continue to do so. A classic taste, and a great beer, with some power to boot.

DOA
