12 oz bottle poured into a chalice.

A well built and complicated little brew. I wasn't sure what to expect from it on first sight. It was lighter in color, golden or peach with a quickly faded white head. The aroma was more promising. It was full of banana, clove, and spices and similar to a witbier or even a hefe. The phenolic character was strong. Pre-taste impression was good.

The flavor bursted out nice and yeasty. There were a lot of wheat notes in here: Mildly sweeet, toasted banana, clove, citrus, bread, etc. However, there was much more complexity. Hints of vine fruits, earthiness, and maybe a little nut. A nice closing bitterness provided great balance.

The carbonation settled down a minute or two after the pour, but it was really high at first. Had a nice, dry finish and was refreshing, amazingly so for the ABV. The body was pretty light.

Overall this reminded me of a very rich and complicated witbier.

This is what a beer should be! I first tried this one at a local deli and was blown away. Then, my brother-in-law got me this one in a gift of beers. Thanks bro.

A - Clear, golden/bronze hue with carbonation bubbling up. 1/2 inch of head with lacing present throughout most of the beer.

S - Yeast and malts come bursting forth to the nose. A pleasant sweet smell arises reminding me of caramel apples.

T - Smooth and malty up front, hints of warm cider going down. Great.

M - Excellent carbonation, very smooth.

D - At 9%, this beer will leave you feeling good.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a cloudy light peachish yellow color. Nicely fizzy head that allows the beautiful aroma of this beer to escape. Smells of yeasties, bananas, cloves, basically like a belgian hefeweizen. Flavors on this one are spicey and phenolic. Once again, like a belgian hefeweizen, but not like a witbier. A very nice belgian pale ale, one of my favorites. Holy balls is this drinkable. What does 9% abv mean again? Yeah, just awesome.

The beer pours out a straw gold, and has a magnificent head that stays around for minutes and leaves lacing down the side of the glass.. Has a very clean taste. The beer is very strong, but the alcohol is subtle. Excellent example of a non-Belgian Belgian; the flavor is very authentic, and can stand toe to toe with any Beligian tripel that I've tried. I definately recommend it

Apearance: Dark yellow-tan color and a fine head.
Smell: Fruity malt scent and hints of spice.
Taste: Wow. A big spicey, salty flavor with and excellent malt profile. I think I'm tasting whole-leaf hops in here. Great stuff.
Mouthfeel: Loads of carbonation and classic Belgian stickiness.
Drinkability: One of the more drinkable Belgians I've had the privilege to try.

Appearance: Poured into a Duvel sniffter; dusty and hazy rich gold; I poured out all the yeast. Huge off white head with a steady stream of bubbles up the center.

Smell: Apples and citusy spice and yeast.

Mouthfeel: Light and crisp with champagne like carbonation.

Taste: Peppery and citrusy yeasty cloves. Yeasty and wheaty. Amazing.

Drinkability: One of my favorites. Delicately complex yet easily enjoyed. The alcohol is buried and always leaves you wanting more.
