not that this beer needs more good press, but it is quite representative of the style. golden colored tripel with noticeable Belgian yeasty esters on the nose. mouthfeel is light, with a touch of creaminess on the end. lots of fruit qualities waft up when the beer is consumed and seem to linger in its long finish.

A - Cloudy golden yellow appearance. Lots of bubbly head formed quickly and dissipated slowly to a thin white layer

S - Yeasty and sweet malt smells. Caramel malt and sugars with hints of citrus hops/orange peel.

T - Sweet sugary taste with bits of citrus flavor and just a bit of alcohol. Bready yeast flavor - biscuity finish. Very inviting sweetness of the added malt is well balanced with just enough hops and the yeast. Covers up the high ABV well.

M - Smooth and easy to drink with only moderate carbonation

O - Excellent beer and a treat to enjoy. A great Tripel. The sweetness and bready flavors are outstanding and well balanced. The high ABV is only noticeable after finishing your second glass! Would highly recommend

A: It is a very foggy light yellow with no head when poured.

S: Very fruity. There are aromas of banana, citrus, and lemon. Very strong aroma.

T: Just ok. The aromas mentioned above carry over into the very bold taste.

M: Very very fizzy. The beer is watery.

O: The only reason I bought this was because it was on the top 100 and I wanted to try a tripple. I was not impressed and I am surprised it was on the list to begin with.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

A: Beautiful hazy orange with lots of swirling carbonation bubbles and a thick white head.

S: Sweet, yeast, fruity. Slight cloves hint. Can't exactly put my finger on the fruit, perhaps banana?

T: Yeasty into a malty banana bread type flavor with a spice finish.

M: Very refreshing the high amounts of carbonation make this beer a real refreshing drink.

O: There's a reason why this is cult status at this point. Very easy to drink and well made.

Enjoyed this 12oz silver foil topped bottle out of a large snifter glass.

A: Pours a very hazy orange hue with a HUGE, 4-finger, white, frothy head that lasts forever! Great trail all the way down the glass and ends in a persistent solid lace. Brew fizzes with every sip

S: Strong Belgian sweet candi smell followed yeast aroma with hints of fruits and phenols.

T: Sweet smooth brew at first taste followed by a heavy malt and alcohol warth that transcends the whole body. Hints of spicy cloves and yeast in the background and finishes slightly sweet.

M: Very strong and boozy. Heavy body and heavy carbonation.

O: Wow – this brew kicks some ass. Definitely a sipper at 9% abv

Pours a hazy golden yellow with clouds of yeast floating around. There's 1/2" of soft, foamy, soap-bubble-like head with decent retention. The nose has notes of coriander, wheat, apples, straw, and a hint of lemon. The taste is orange peel, coriander, faint lemon, alcohol phenols, and faint red apples. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, warm, and well carbonated.

This is a well balanced, rather complicated tripel. The flavors mesh well though the coriander can be overwhelming at times. Overall, though this is a great example of the style.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a goblet, best before 2-8-14 date on the back. This pours a nice hazy light golden color with a decent white head which quickly dissipates. Smells of cloves, banana, coriander, malts, very nice. Feel is medium with high carbonation. The tastes are many of the same spices and malts with a nice dry finish, this beer is excellent and meets expectations.

Bottle served in a goblet.

Appearance: Pours a pale yellow with a large white head. The head resides fairly quickly and there is not much lacing left behind.

Smell: A wonderful mix of sweet and spicy. The aroma has a strong malt background with a slight hint of fruitiness such as grape and citrus. The finish is slightly spicy.

Taste: The taste is similar to the aroma with a wonderfully complex malt underpinning with a lovely wave of fruity overtones such as mango and citrus. Everything is perfectly balanced with a finish full of clove spiciness and a warming alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Light mouthfeel with a good level of carbonation. Very well attenuated. Super easy to drink and very enjoyable.

Overall: A wonderful beer. Flavorful, complex, easy to drink. It doesn't get much better than this.

Appears a natural hazed golden with quickly dissipating white head.

Smells like fruity belgian yeast, white grapes, apples, citrus, some grains.

After a very welcome initial spiciness the flavor emerges as a slightly darker fruit than the nose, with white grape, apple, citrus, berries, tropicals. Lots going on here. A great flavorful beer.

Mouthfeel is superb. Great level of spice, perfect carbonation, medium body.

Overall a delicious beer.

Personally my favorite beer. Hence the straight 5.0 rating. It looks right, smells rights and tastes right. It has a wonderfully complex flavor that no other beer I have ever tried has lived up to. They all seem to simple in comparison.

I always have a stash of 750ml bottles around for consumption.

Cloudy orange body with a tight large white head. Excellent lacing on this guy.

Candi sugar sweet aroma. Tropical fruit papaya, mango. Nice clove and pepper to complement the sweeter aroma.

Banana mango clove estery fruity combo hits the tongue nicely with a good complex flavor profile. Finishes dry with a residual alcohol twang.

Phenomenal beer full of flavor. Large chewy full carbonated body. My perfect non-stout morning beer with to sit around and be lazy watching college football/basketball (go jayhawks)

T - Very sweet, honey, yeast, bananas, apples and a little bit of citrusy flavor.

M - Medium bodied with high carbonation. Very smooth and creamy.

O - Excellent tripel with ABV very well hidden. I would highly recommend it or drink again.

Appearance – A blonde amber color. Good head that stays with the beer. Champaign style bubbles.

Smell – Cider, spice, malt, citrus, and a touch of honey.

Taste – The smells above also describe the taste.

Mouthfeel – Medium body with good carbonation. Dry finish. The 9.0% a.b.v. is well hidden.

Drinkability – This is a good beer, but as far as tripels go, it’s not one of my favorites. Too cidery for me.

You will love the look, taste and feel of this beer! I gave it to friend of mine and I thought he was going to leave his wife!
With an almost zen-like golden amber color, this crisp and strong beer goes great with pizza, steak, a concert, a wedding anniversary or your favorite team opening up a can of whoop-ass on a rival.

Tastes great on a warm day and represents the best of North America. Uhhh, can you tell I dig this brew?
Thank you, Canada!

Golden, tinting yellow beer, with creamy white head.

Sweet yeast aroma with banana and pineapple. All blends well into a nice sweetness.

Sweet taste too. A very well blended mix of bread, banana, even peach. A bit more carbonated than I like for a tripel. But overall an excellent example of the style.

Poured into an oversized wine glass. Nice thick white head. Cloudy yellow color - a dense beer - can't see through it.

Really nice smell. Apricot, Belgian yeasts, hops.

Tastes delicious. Balance between hops & malts. Sweet. Alcohol is completely hidden for such a high ABV. Excellent beer. Could have used a touch more zest and complexity - that's all that kept it from being a "5".

A while ago, I received a recommendation to try a few beers before I die. One of them, La Fin du Monde, was readily available at my local grocery store. I decided, "Well, what the hell, life is short, let's just get this and see how it goes" when I went shopping for laundry detergent. A funny thing happened when a Haggen employee came over to the beer section to attempt to re-stock a beer. For some reason, she asked ME if I knew where a beer was so she could restock it. Did I know where it was? Of course I know where it was. (Might want to tell you guys that as of today I weigh 225.6 pounds, down from 261.4 at the beginning of the year. Not that you didn't believe me) Uhm, here's my review of the beer.

Initial assessment: "This will be the best beer you've had in your life."

Initial red flag: The diagram on the bottle has a picture. One is of a stout glass. The other a pilsner glass with a red "X" over it. Uhm, that's the only beer vessel I have to drink out of, bottle.

It's a corked top, which I have issues with. Last time I uncorked an alcoholic beverage (champagne) the cork blew out of the champagne bottle, hit the ceiling, probably hit my roommate and bounced wildly. That's the last time I tried a mimosa.

Vessel chosen for consumption: Pint glass

Aroma: N/A. I have a bad cold and don't want to hold my nose over the glass for too long or something bad will happen to my $9.50 beer.

Appearance: Deep gold color (like an unpolished, old gold medal) with a cloudy consistency.

Taste: Mmm, tasty tasty. Usually, when you have a beer, you know the aftertaste will be heavily alcoholic and sometimes ruin your beer. Here, there's light notes of that at the very end of the sip, but heavier notes of fruit (can't identify which ones) and a very smooth taste.

Rings around the glass: Whoever thinks this needs to happen in every beer they drink is an idiot and should be shot. Counting rings in your glass? Wow, you must be really fun to hang out with at bars. "Look, there's, like, fifty individual rings around my glass!" Rings should only be seen on fingers. Even then it's debatable.

A picture of "her" showed up as I was drinking this and I almost cried. WAIT, that's an emotion, not a category.

ASTMO -- random letters you shouldn't guess on Wheel of Fortune.

I'm pretty satisfied with my choice of beer tonight. Didn't try to mask it with any food because then you have popcorn beer and what fun is that, really? I don't know about the long-term options for this beer... I'm more of a steak and potatoes kind of dude when it comes to beer. I like it, just put it in front of me and let's see what happens. Don't care too much for fanciness of it when, in my current state, drunkenness will do just fine. But this really is a good beer, you should try it and try to get a hold of it.

But for me, Captain Cheap, I'll stick with my guns and receive quantity over quality.

GRADE: B, but secretly leaning A-

Unibroue was one of the earliest craft breweries that I was introduced to since arriving in New Jersey, and I was very happy to have been introduced to their brand.

There is a very healthy head when it is poured. And it smells very good with bubblegum and banana.

It smells very good as well. I really enjoyed savoring this bottle.

This is an excellent example of a tripel. I recommend it.

A - 12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. A pretty cool graphic on the front label, classy foil covers the cap. I like how on the back it has several graphics indicating that they use natural ingredients, bottle conditioning, and also which glassware to use. All those things promote beer literacy - something that i always support!

The beer pours like velvet. It's cloudy light amber color and forms a nice thin layer of head that is persistent. Only some lacing, but it bubbles a little after every sip. There's an "it factor" to the look of this beer. It's a nice light amber color, but no light gets through. You can't see bubbles moving through the glass, but you can tell they are making their way up to the top. I could go on - it's an attractive beer.

S - You can smell the beer before you even put your nose up to it. The initial aroma lasts for quite some time - an enticing mix of fruity yeast, dried fruits, alcohol, some buttery diacetyl notes, and maybe a touch of funk. Intoxicating!

T - Tastes even better than it smells. All of the above but more intense. Just delicious.

M - Very smooth when swirled over the tongue. A little hot, but I don't mind it one bit. You just want to keep drinking it to get the smoothness back!

O - An easy go-to beer that I've had many times. I don't buy this as often as I should, because I'm always trying new beers. After I discovered Chimay, this was kind of the "next beer" to continue expanding my horizons. Maybe not for "everyone," but it should be! Highly recommended. If you know someone who loves beer and has not tried this - help them fix that situation.

This is one of the beers that defines it style. From the creative name to the distinctive label to the incredible beer, an exceptional choice.

The taste does not give away at all the potency of this brew. Very smooth taste, with little or no strong alcohol aftertaste. One of the few brews worth a perfect rating.

honey orange color with a nice fluffy head. not much lacing, but I think it's less from the beer and more from the glass

smells like sour citrus and toasted bread and a bit floral

taste is sour fruit and maybe some banana. definitely gets better as it warms up.

Pours a nice clowdy light golden orange with a thin white head that does'nt stick around to long. No lacing.
Smell is spicy, with some light sweet fruits, strawberrys, banana, maybe white grape.
Taste has a nice spicy bite that is also pretty sweet, it's pretty hard to pick out the 9% ABV, well done.
The carbonation is pretty strong on this one. The whole bouquet of flavors really sits on the palette. The body is pretty light and the finish is super smooth.

S - A bit spicy and sweet.

T - This is where it loses me. Very spicy, peppery. The spices just don't do it for me. Reminds be of a bad fall/pumpkin beer. A bit of alcohol in the finish

M - Thinner side of medium. Too much carbonation.
