I got this as a single at Union Jack's on the Manatawny. I drank it in a goblet. Best before date of 6-21-07 on the label. YAY!
Aroma is sure appley. I smelled apples as soon as I opened it. Pours a hazy yellow with a 2 finger head of white foam. Carbonation looks effervescent. The head eventually drops to islands and a ring, with only trace lacing.
There is also a nice bready malt smell, as well as yeast. Might also be some coriander and other spices in there. Smells yummy.
First flavor is pilsner malt, followed by yeast. The apple comes next, a little on the green side. It's slightly tart, and a little champagne-like. Hop character is very low, with only slight bitterness detected. Aftertaste is apples and maybe bananas, with a nice tartness.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp, really refreshing. Carbonation is pretty damn high. Finish is dry and tingly.
I like this. It says on the bottle it's a "refreshing summer delight", and I'll bet it is. I don't think I'd want to drink it all day, but if I was thirsty, it'd really hit the spot. It's tasty, fizzy, fruity, and delish. One of the best fruit beers I've had in a long time.
