Poured from a corked 22oz bomber.
La Terrible pours out completly, menancingly, pitch black. A completly black brew. The head is a tan carmel colored light cap, this beer leaves no lacing in the glass whatsoever. A pitch-black Russian Imperial Wit ale if you will.
Aroma- notes of smokey cherry-wood, bitter chocolate, dark malts, rum-like aromas. super-sweet, no apparent wheat aromas, more dark grains.
The flavor is a Dubble^2. Everything in a Dubble, rich toasted malts, bitter chocolates, smoky cherry wood, a super rich-tasting elixer that is cut perfectly by the carbonation levels and perfect balance of alcoholic phenol clove-like spiciness.
Alcohol is perfectly masked. Mouthfeel is amazing. What looks to be a super-thick rich, heavy brew is in fact a tart, astringent, delicious, highly drinkable congac-like brew. The more I drink, the more I want. This is a "Terribly" delicious beer-sorry had to make the joke. Merci Unibroue!
