Appearance: Pours a cloudy, pale, haystack yellow with a foamy head that shrinks a bit throughout the drinking of the 750ml bottle. The head starts out quite aggressive, but quickly goes to a 1/4" ring around the edge.
Smell: Ripe fruit, pale malt, and a fruity sweetness...maybe pear, apple, and/or apricot. A lot going on in the aroma department here.
Taste: The flavor really follows up on what I'd sensed in the smell. A great fruit flavor, along with a malty sweetness. They use Belgian candi sugar here to boost the alcohol without adding body. Finishes with a nice, crisp hop bite and a dry alcohol note. Good amount of spicyness as well. Very tasty!
Mouthfeel: A solid, medium mouthfeel that combines the thickness of the yeast sediment and the crispness of wheat. Goes down very smooth.
Drinkability: Fairly high...for a 9% brew. I couldn't drink this all night, but it does go down easy for such a strong beer.
