As its name suggests, Éphémère is an ephemeral ale that comes and goes with the seasons. It was developed as a series to feature a seasonal fruit in a refreshing, lightly spiced white ale. The label depicts a fairy, an ephemeral spirit associated with fruits picked at the peak of ripeness during each harvest season. She first appeared in the spring of 2001 and has since been celebrated on a variety of seasonal fruit ales such as apple (brewed all year long), cranberry, blackcurrant, peach, raspberry and blueberry.

It has a delicate cranberry flavor which gives it the perfect sweetness-acidity balance.

Éphémère (Cranberry). I got it in a 12 mix pack

Look: Cloudy rose colour, about a finger of white head.

Smell: Yeast, cranberry

Taste: Witbier and cranberry. light malt, a bit sour also

Feel: Medium body, light to medium carbonation

So overall would I recommend it? Not really, the cranberry notes are pretty strong

Would I buy it again ? No

Pours rose tan into a nice tulip. Nose is fruity and rich here of tart apple and sour keys. Taste is tart cranberry with fizzle finish. Decent all around.

Not into fruit beers but this one was pretty good. It helps l like cranberries (or any berry for that matter). Pours a foamy head with good retention accompanied with a hazy, burnt yellow colour with some suds. The aroma is a balance of yeast and, you guessed it, cranberries. Tastes like a 'blonde' or even a witbier with a cranberry flavor that doesn't overpower - which can be seen as a fault. I would have liked a tad more cranberry kick.

Cloudy rose-tan color. High flux of tiny bubbles rising from the bottom. Poured a tan head of tiny bubbles that is shrinking and being replenished from below almost as fast. No lacing.

Tart cranberry and apple scent with a light fresh bread yeast under it. Swirling the glass enhanced the cranberry and kicked up a little bit of funky barnyard. The slight barnyard works well with the other scents.

Starts off with strong cranberry flavor and then morphs to a funky yeast and light malt that doesn't blend as well with the cranberry as it could. The result is something that tastes a little bit off, although I can't place what I don't like about it. The cranberry comes back to dominate the aftertaste, but it has changed in the voyage.

Full on tongue tickling as it bursts into a foam that quickly grows to large bubbles. The bubbles leave the tongue feeling like a light alcohol burn after swallowing.

My notes from a couple of years ago said "Very light touch on the cranberry. Slightly more sour than their other ales. Seems to be missing something." I would say that the cranberry is more dominant than it was at that time. The flavor still seems to be missing something. However, even though it is not entirely to my liking, it is a good representative of the style.

Hazy and veiled dark straw color with light activity. Thick foamy light beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with mediocre legs but good swirl reaction. Flavors of cranberries, wheat, sweet grains, Belgian yeast, and floral hops. Fluffy medium body with extra crispy carbonation. Light strength finish, slightly sour, mostly grainy and fruity, a bit flowery at the end. The fruit feel is a little shy. High freshness, decent texture. Probably one of my least favorite Éphémère. Still overall a very good quality fruit beer.

Appearance: Hazy medium golden color, with a prominent, dense head, which retains fairly well. Thin, fine, and unbroken lacing adorns the glass walls.

Aroma: Cranberries ans spicy wheat malt dominate the aroma, presenting a slightly sweet aroma, somewhat like a wine cooler..

Taste: Sharply tart cranberries vie with spicy wheat for supremacy. Tangy sour apple notes present as well. A mild wave of tart and sour cranberries bring the taste to a close.

Mouth feel: Smooth and very full, with soft carbonation, and just a hint of zestiness.

Drinkability/notes: A rare example, a cranberry beer. Would that there would be more of these.

I bought this beer at the grocery store a few days ago here in Dallas, Texas (750ml bottle). The 2016 version has a nicer looking and more colorful label compared to the one displayed here. I really liked the taste.

(L) It has a hazy golden color and a thin white bubbly head.

(A) It has a very pleasant and inviting aroma with a lot of yeast and cranberry.

(T) The taste is a very nice blend of yeast, bread, cranberry, orange, banana, and coriander. It is a little bit sweet but not too sweet. It is tart but not too much, and unlike some other tart fruit beers it did not give me any heartburn. Not much bitterness though.

(F) Easy drinking, a bit fizzy, yet nice flavors and aromas. I think it was light and just right.

Poured from a 750ml bottle.

A: Pours a clear golden honey color with lots of bubbly carbonation. Head is two fingers of intense white foamy bubbles that retain for a very long time before fading some, however it never fully dissipates. The appearance is somewhere between a Belgian style pale, and champagne. Overall it works and the brew is quite beautiful.

S: Belgian yeasts and cranberry dominate the nose. You also get some notes of orange peel, sweet bread, coriander, pepper, and some subtle earthy spiciness.

T: Cranberry rightfully is the first flavor to jump out at you. There is also some orange, bready malts, Belgian yeasts, coriander, pepper, banana, and earthy spices. Finishes bittersweet and tart with a lingering cranberry aftertaste.

M: Light bodied with a high amount of carbonation. Not much to the body, very crisp and refreshing, it's a great brew to start with but lacks depth.

O: A pleasant change up brew for me. It is making for a great start the day brew. It has a beautiful pour and has some nice aromas and flavors. If you like Belgian ales and cranberry's this is for you. I am enjoying this brew and would definitely drink it again. Overall a solid offering from Unibroue now on to the next.

Man I had this next to the apple version and couldn't tell the difference at all. It's supposed to be a fruit beer but tastes like an overly herbal hefe or wit that just barely has a touch of added fruit?
