750mL bottle poured into taster - sample from Jerry at the Intl Beer Expo

Bright pinkish cherry pour with a thin, bubbly layer of froth. Fades away quickly into some wispy film with a couple spots of lacing.

Fruity and invigorating in the nose with cherries and tartness. Lightly sweet with hints of Belgian yeast and a dash of spice.

Bubbly and tart right up front on the tongue with plenty of ripe cherries and cherry skin. Ripened fruit, spicy yeast and soft funk. Delicate, yet expressive flavor driven by the fruit with a soft grainy backbone. Finishes with cherry tartness.

Lighter medium body, higher carbonation, bubbly and refreshing on the tongue. A really crisp, satisfying fruit beer with a well-executed use of cherries. I'm looking forward to this one when it finally hits the US.

341ml bottle poured into tulip 23/7/14

A hazy pinkish orange, lots of carbonation but little for foam or lace

S cherry cough syrup and faint yeast, that's about it

T faint menthol added to what I smell, it might just be in my head because it tastes like Cherry Halls in every other way possible

M light but it fluffs up quickly, slick on the palate, cereal and fake cherry lingers on the finish

O Halls Cherry cough drop in beer form, its really hard to shake once you find it

pretty basic stuff, one dimensional for sure and a little lame for Unibroue standards

On tap at The Old Toad in Rochester, NY.

Pours a hazy orange, with a pinkish hue. No head, really, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like wheat, cherries, and Belgian yeast.

The taste is similar. Luckily, this stays un-cloying. Slightly tart and acidic cherry flavor, but mostly sweet. The cherry sort of drowns out the underlying witbier here.

Light bodied, crisp mouthfeel, well carbonated.

A nice little fruit beer, nothing amazing, but tasty nonetheless.

750ml cork and cage bottle poured into a Unibroue chalice.

A: Pours a pink tinged golden color. Clarity is good. Pillowy white cap of lacing stands at an impressive three fingers. Lacing is web-like and thick.

S: Overt cherry aroma dominates the nose, perfumey with some tartness. Subtle yeasty undertones with hints of white pepper. Perhaps a bit of wheat poking through too.

T: Tart cherries set in early. Surprisingly dry. Yeast character starts to come into focus more and diverts some attention away from the cherries. Somewhat chalky. Hints clovey phenols. Wheaty base. White pepper. Dry finish of wheat, yeast, and fading tart cherry.

M: Light bodied. Creamy and frothy. Highly effervescent and scrubbing. Every sip feels as though it evaporates right out of the mouth.

O: Unibroue's fruit beers don't get a lot of love, but there really isn't much to hate here. The overall dryness really works to its advantage. It's a very delicate beer, and the flavors are simple and fleeting. So light in texture and substance that you could drink the whole 750ml bottle and not even know it was in your stomach. Pair with angel food cake, maybe?
