12oz. bottle poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Clear amber color with a tinge of orange hue and abundant carbonation. On top of this beer sets a thick, creamy two finger head, which settles down to a half-finger head. Rings of fluffy lacing form around the glass until the beer is gone.
Smell: Sweet citrus notes are made apparent upon the initial whiff. Very floral and piney to boot. I'm also getting hints of sweet caramel in the background. Slight esters add to the quality of the nose.
Taste: The arrival is sweet, but only for a second. Next comes the bitter hop punch. Shortly after that, the booze hits you in the face. The hops aren't as overpowering as I presumed. Pale malt backbone. Ends with a sweet, bitter, and dry lingering finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied. Ample carbonation keeps this beer refreshing.
Ending notes: Overall, this is one of my personal favorites. Definitely not for the faint-hearted. Very representative of the DIPA style. Every time I see this on the shelves I have to grab a six-pack. I would definitely recommend this beer.

I'd go through all the motions with you: A,S,T,M- but lets just go with O.
O- This is the best beer readily available. If you like IPA's go for it. If you don't, go for it. Its great. Its my go to, its my wifes go to. There is really nothing about this beer that isn't outstanding. To be honest, it ruins me- I now can't have anyother IPA without thinking it's lacking something... it's just not Maximus. Stone, Founders, even Lagunitas IPA, none of them can compare. I know its all personal preference but damn this is a damn good beer. Its Imperial, its got a citrus, its hoppy, its strong (beware it'll sneak up on you), and its incredibly delicious.
