This stuff pours a thick and murky orange/amber color with only a finger of slowly receding head. The aroma is quintessential West Coast: citrusy hops, and syrupy pine. The taste is a touch sweeter than others of this variety (I2PA, Ruination, Dreadnaught); it's quite good, with skeletal malts, but it lacks that grapefruity bite that a double often produces (a plus or minus depending upon your preference, I suppose). However, it is smooth and silky to the palate, and the light carbonation is just right. A very worthy choice.

Bomber poured into tulip glass.

A: Pours a murky gold, with a very thin head that dissipates very quickly.

S: Piney, dank and resiny, with some grapefruit notes lingering in the background and adding a light finish.

T: Malty and floral, but with a mild and bitter bite at the end that really adds some character to it.

M: Warm and lightly carbonated, and very light to drink (especially for a DIPA).

O: Cool beer by Lagunitas, bringing some malt flavor to the forefront over typical hop focus. Flavor is a big part of this one, which is what makes it incredibly enjoyable with each and every sip.

A: Apricot in color, with only the slightest amount of haze. The white head has just a tint of yellow, and is fairly fluffy with some fish eyes in there.

S: Grapefruit, pine, and 'dank' come to mind. Some nice caramel aroma in the finish. Smells like a big hoppy American Style IIPA.

T: Sweetness comes of first, oddly enough. After the initial sweetness, pine and grapefruit take over, the hoppiness fades out with a touch of onion flavor. The 'dank' smell comes back into the flavor, and provides underscoring for the rest of the tasting experience.

M: Medium to medium thick in mouthfeel, the carbonation seems a tad low. The finish is slightly dry.

O: Pretty good beer, full of west coast IPA flavors. Pretty bang on for style, very enjoyable.

Pours a brilliant golden with a billowing cream head that slowly dissipates leaving sticky lacing.

Tropical fruit notes of mango and pineapple accompany citrusy tangerine, contrasted by resin. Very fruity hop aroma.

Flavor reveals tart lime, lemon, and peach underpinnings, with mango and a touch of resin surfacing late. The toasted malt backbone is subtle, but surfaces mid palate to carry into a lightly bitter finish. Bitterness is more pronounced as it warms.

Body is on the full side, with moderate carbonation and noted alcohol warmth. It kind of coats the tongue in an odd way.

Great hop flavoring, albeit somewhat muddled. Not overly bitter or overly sweet.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on April 18, 2014.

Like so many beers in its class it has a handsome looking copper-amber pour with an off-white head that fades into a ring.

Biscuit malts and floral hops penetrate the nose. It is better than a pale but not quite as hopped as a Double IPA.

Medium body mostly and smooth.

The taste brings out a decent malts-hops balance with the hops leaning toward the floral side. Lingering bitterness at the end. A beer that one can like.

Got this and Sucks. Like this better. Yeah, I said it.
A- gave it a 4.25 cuz the head retention and color is awesome. Little floaty goodies in there too, but its still clear. Just a great looking brew.
S- Balance. Hops bite you with the bitterness. Malt holds its own.
T- Balance. I love how malty it is. Bitterness is clear and crisp. You can taste the craftsmanship.
M- beautiful. Its dry, but just the right amount. Its almost got a chewy feeling to it, but its just got the perfect amount of body.
Over this beer is fantastic, Id get it over Sucks any day. Yeah, I said that again.

I put just a splash of this in my sauteed mushrooms with garlic and oregano, basil, black pepper and olive oil. It was awesome over steak.

Cheers!
