Our only Lager, brewed with loads of imported Saaz hops and a bottom-fermenting yeast strain that leaves it Light and Crisp and Easy to Slam, yet full of real flavor and all the things you yearn for.

Like Adam and Eve, Isaac and Ishmael, Mao and Confucius, Good and Evil, Day and Night, Hittites and Visigoths, John and Lorena, or Groucho and Moe, Ales and Lagers are as different as can be. Still, we must love each for who they are, separately but equally, with liberty and justice for all. Cheers!

Well, I would say more "American" style than Czech. This brew does have the general looks of a pils but lack a couple of key characteristics elsewhere. Most notable is the lack of noble hops in the nose and in the taste...give me some prominent sazz damn it. Malt character is also more in line with an MGD than with one of the finer Czech pils. Overall this is relatively good beer that's very drinkable but just not up snuff. Perhaps it's the water in California.

Direct upside down pour into pilsner urquell .5l mug. Smell of noble hops. Great lacing, big giant head. Taste confirms my suspicion, the 6er i purchased has a little too much age on it. The taste the brewer intended is compromised. Nontheless, decent beer not to be confused with real czech pilsners. Another knock off, not to repeated. And a 6% czech pilsner? Whos idea was that?

I expected more based on recommendations for best common pilsners on Reddit. Eh. At least it wasn't a big investment. I appreciate some of Lagunitas' beers (A LOT), but this was not one of them, unfortunately. Not really my style, so can't say my opinion is worth much here. I'm reviewing in any case because this is my account and my opinion.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tumbler.

It pours vibrant and gold, very clear and shows plenty of fast rising bubbles. It is topped with one inch of white soapy foam that remains for several minutes. The nose is moderate in strength with spicy lemon zest and bread that is a touch doughy. Taste is good and in my novice opinion, within the guidelines for style. Offering mild bitterness all the way through, starting lemon grass and finishing with more of lemon peel flavor. The malt is cleaner and less sweet than the nose led me to believe tasting of light toast and only a hint of corn towards the end of the glass after warming. A medium weight soft body crisps at the finish. Enjoyable.

This is one of a couple out of a handful of Czech/Bohemians that I have tried so far that I really liked and will probably buy and drink again.

12 oz bottle pours a clear golden color with a decent white foamy head that doesn't seem to last very long, light grassy and flowery aroma, balanced malt and hop flavors, light to medium body with a crisp mouthfeel, finishes clean and dry, all in all a pretty good pils.

12oz bottle coded 351 9 2 (about 3 months old-Chicago) poured into a pokal glass at fridge temp 6% ABV. The beer pours bright golden straw yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is mild with lemon, honey and grass. The taste is lightly sweet malt with earthy, slight lemon hops and slight bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good. Drinks more like an IPL or hoppy Helles to me. Not quite to the Czech style so it loses some numbers there, but good beer nonetheless.
