Husband loves Pilsners in the summer and I prefer Wheats. I had a Unibroue Don De Dieu before this. Poured this beer into a Pilsner glass.
A: Only about a quarter inch head. Straw colored. Bubbles continue to flow to top of beer well after its poured.
S: Very straw like. Not overly hoppy. As it warms up a bit I smell cinnamon!
T: My immediate impression is "this is what BMC should taste like but never will." Though many might say that about craft Pilsners. Very well balanced. This beer comes from a brewery that is part of the hopbomb crew from NoCal. (Incidentally one of my favorite CA breweries.)They did a great job of holding back on the hops. Would be great with a Hebrew National hot dog. Has a tart/bready finish.
M: Keeps its fizz but is not overwhelming.
D: Very very drinkable in the hot summers of Atlanta. (Actual residents do not call it "Hotlanta.") Appears to be no ABV but I think by American standards this could be a session beer. Do not send me beer mail about it being too high in alcohol to be a session beer. I cannot help it if you cannot hold your liquor.
