S: Not very intense. Mostly blandly sweet cereal grains with a light wiff of mossy hops and minerals.

T: Fairly sweet and flabby. Quite sweet, bland cereal grain character. Hops are a bit herbal, but have a dank, dark character. Bitterness shows up late to the party and doesn't really balance the sweetness, leaving this pils flabby. When the bitterness does show up its far from crisp, not very intense, yet is still rough and unpleasant. Finish has a hop character that is mossy, dark, and unpleasant. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and drinkability on this is very low.

Note: A dud from a brewer I enjoy very much.

First 4 numbers are 0052, Definitely the 5th day of the year, can't figure out whether the 2 means the year was 2012, If someone reads this review and knows the answer I would appreciate a beer mail, enjoyed on Feb. 15, 2012.
A: Crystal clear straw-colored, white head dissipates pretty quickly.
S: Sharp, crackery malt steals the show. A hint of oxidation, and a little sulfur but both of these are in the background. Pretty light on the hops with a light noble hop aroma, and a light citrus but malt is the main player.
T: Malt flavors opens up, not overly sweet. The malt is still mainly crackery, but with a grainy edge to it. Nice drying bitter finish. Malt lingers a little but the hops over power it. A little more estery than most lagers but still refreshing.
M: Lighter side of medium-bodied. High carb and very crisp.
O: Nice solid pils. I enjoyed it, but it doesn't stand out above others for me. I didn't love the fermentation. It didn't seem quite as pure lagery to me. I thought I got more esters than normal for a lager.

a: Pale gold in color and fairly clear. Not brilliantly clear. Head is long lasting with some lacing along the glass. Head is white in color and is somewhat chunky.

s: Rich bready malt aroma. Floral smell from the hops without too much spice to it. Some diacetyl is present but it is at the low end. The malt aroma is slightly more powerful than the hops aroma

t: Malt flavor does not seem that complex. Has overall bready tones but not picking up the rich, complex Pils malt. Bitterness comes on hard and overwhelms the malt flavor. The flavor of the hops is mildly spicy. The bitterness is somewhat harsh and lingers into the aftertaste. There is no presence of the malt in the aftertaste. Clean, no fruity esters.

m: Medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation. No diacetyl detected. Warmth is moderate.

o: The bitterness overwhelms pretty much everything in this beer. I would ease of the hops so the pilsner malt can shine thru.

Poured into a 16 ounce stein. Golden color with slight orange tint, it has a half finger of creamy white foam which is quite persistent. The aroma is rather faint, with some malt, floral hops, and a hint of yeast. Taste is also rather mild and closely follows the smell. Feel is fairly light but consistent with taste and smell.

This is a likeable, mild beer. It makes a nice departure for me from the roasted malty porters i have been drinking, but nothing to go out of the way to have.

On tap poured into an 8oz glass.

Pours a very light and clear yellow Color with a small white head and some light white lacing. Nose is very light, slightly malty but very nondescript.

Taste is lightly sweet and malty, but overall its your standard Czechpils, however it just doesn't stand up to any of the real ones in Prague. Mouthfeel is a bit too light with a, on of carbonation.

A - The color is a nice pure yellow a touch deeper than most Pilsner's and a nice inch of pure white foam.

S - Smells pretty good for a pilsner it's a bit of corn and malt with a nice level of bitter.

T - I really enjoy the sweetness in this one crisp in flavor with a touch of corn and yeast. Better than it sounds with a good finish of bittering hops.

M - Light to medium easy to drink after that sour.

Overall maybe it's me but this company makes a great Pilsner especially after trying a good sour!
