A: Pours a clear opaque extremely dark brown (almost black) in color with moderate to significant amounts of visible carbonation and some reddish brown highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense dark tan head that slowly reduces to a medium large thick patch with a thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted malts with some lighter notes of coffee, just a hint of piney hops towards the finish.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of dark roasted malts and some very light hints of dark chocolate. Following the malts, there are moderate to strong flavors of coffee with just a hint of piney hops. Moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Smooth, though slightly thin, with light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer is deceptive in it's strength as the alcohol is extremely well hidden - I really enjoyed the coffee flavors which become even more pronounced as the beer warms up. Pretty easy to drink.

A: Black. It's pretty black. Light can barely pass through it. Nice 2-finger tan head leaves nice lacing on the glass.
S: Lots of chocolate and roasted malt. Smells tasty. Slightly sweet with smooth milk chocolate and coffee. Touch of booze.
T: Just like the nose, the creamy chocolate is upfront and fades into the rich dark malts. Towards the back, the coffee is slightly robust and bitter, as it is accompanied by a mild amount of hops. Very well balanced. . . And there's the booze. The alcohol lingers more on the tongue as it warms up.
M: Very creamy. Maybe even a little chewy. Pretty much what I would expect from a stout.
O: I really liked this coffee stout. Lagunitas has always been a reliable brewery and a go-to for me. This a pretty good coffee stout, maybe not the best, but definitely worth trying. Especially since a bomber of it is only about five dollars. I recommend it!
