From a 22 oz. bomber.
A - dark, oily black. Hint of ruby red at the base of the glass. Clear where visible, but mostly opaque. Head is huge and rocky, filled with deep craters of air; cappucino colored and frothy. Retention and lacing are excellent.
S - primary aroma is of hops, which seems a bit odd. Fresh cut grass, earthy hops - reminds me of Fuggle or other traditional English hop (EKG?). Little bit of malt sugar and spice, but mostly hops here.
T - again, hops dominate this stout. Malt and coffee flavors seem to be somewhat of an afterthought. Nice hop flavor of green grass and herbs. Bitterness is moderate, well balanced beer. Malt flavor is subdued - largely that of roasted coffee, milk chocolate. Not getting a ton of coffee flavor other than what you would normally find in a stout.
M - very smooth drinking, creamy stout. Carbonation appears average to low, slightly sticky finish.
D - tasty beer. Would have liked to have more malt/coffee flavors come out, though. Hops are in front here and if you like that in your stouts, go for it.
