This at a glass from the distance with no direct light looks like a stout, but if you are having this during the day time or hold this to any light it really just looks like a brown ale, which terms of color and flavor is like a light stout.

On terms of flavor, It delivers nicely. You get that cocoa/ sweet coffee presence along with a light roastiness in the background. It's almost watery. It makes me wonder how Lagunitas can make a 10% abv beer and make it weak on flavor and alcohol presence.

Overall, it's pretty average. If you are looking for a really nice American Double Stout I would look elsewhere, but at 4$ a bottle, this is nice for someone without the big money or to bring to a gathering with some who are maybe not so adept to bigger craft beers.

This beer still makes me go "hmmmm..."

A. Decent head, not perfect for a stout. Lacing pretty mild throughout. pretty dark in color but not quite mud

S. smells awesome, like robust coffee. I was actually expecting to like this even more than I did based on the smell.

T. Great initial cappuccino flavor, but has a sour bite on the end that is not what I want in a stout.

M. Thick, Solid

O. Can't get over the sourness to fully enjoy this beer. Good brew but not great. Would not buy again but a solid effort

Bottle into worthy glass

A a dark brown color that resembles coffee thick mocha head of about an inch that dispates quickly

S:smells like dark coffee with cream similar to a cappuccino but with a hint of malt and hops didn't blow me away though

T: follows the nose coffee with cream not quite cappuccino status but taste is close there is a nice roasted malt in the flavors but I feel like the creaminess should be more balenced with a stronger coffee flavor but its still there through the finish

M: smoothly and very creamy texture that makes this pretty easy to drink as alcohol is totally not there rich and thick as well not spectacular but good

O:solid stout tastes as advertised but I wish flavors were stronger. Though on the other hand it was drinkable and hid alcohol well so I'd say if you like cappuccino flavors in your stouts give it a try if not its not a must have but it's good
