Live reviewed at Collins Pub in Seattle.
Served up in just a pint glass, the most noticable aspect is the fine, creamy head that sticks around with tenacity. Color of the foam is like a cola, light but with some greyish yellow. Body is dark if not a little too thin a yellow-brown. Crystal clear.
Nose is sweet and floral. Lightish malts dominate, along with new-world hops.
Taste is more sweet and even hoppier, with alphas consuming most of the floral - all except the lemoney citrus. Near the end the honey malts soften to a light caramel. Has an almost oaked middle, inexplicably.
Mouthfeel is a little chalky, and a bit more sticky. Fortunately, not cloying.
The best thing here is how the nose opens up and develops into the middle of the body. A bit bitter, but heavy enough to support it. Not a bad ale for winter and very hearty foods.

Dark amber red in color and pours a massive, frothy head.
Slight caramel, spicy hops, some pepper and a faint malt waft.
Flavors of the hop spice is instant, sweet caramelly malts, and a hop finish.
Hop bitterness all the way through, faint caramel malt backbone.
Overall, not my favorite from 'nitas, but I'd drink it again if offered.
