A- Poured vigorously into my DFH glass. A three finger cherry tinted head that relaxes, and settles slowly and gently onto this gorgeous copper colored brew. Probably more lacing than I've ever seen left behind! Tons of sticky, spider web lacing on every bit of the glass! Beautiful clarity!
S- Pineapple, grapefruit, mango, and crushed pine needles mulled in caramel/honey tea. Some nice green grassiness blended with sweet sugary candy. Smells alot like an American Style Barleywine.
T- Grapefruit, pineapple, mango, raw sugar, pine sap and little hints of caramel and licorice. Not as sweet as the name would imply... more like a lightweight American B.W. Hoppy/citrusy/piney with little hints of honey cough drop and sweet malts.
M- Bitter and astringent with a nicely done malty/caramel backbone. Call it what you want, I call it a West Coast Barleywine... nice amount of pine, tropical and southern fruit, alcohol, and a subtle sweetness that gives a nice balance.
O- Really great to have this again this year. It'd be cool if it was an all year round brew. I could see drinking this even during the warmer months sitting by a fire at night. Great balance without alot of alcohol for a 10% brew. Great job once again Lagunita's!!!
