12oz stubby bottle from Piggly Wiggly. Poured into a Maudite snifter...
A: Pours a tea-like, light brown with some red highlights; 2.5-finger, doughy head that manages great retention and leaves some sticky sheets of lace.
S: Sweet, piney hops; caramel malt; some alcohol, too.
T: Tastes sweeter than it smells... still plenty hoppy, though; orange rind; pretty robust.
M: Full-bodied; moderate-high carbonation; a touch creamy with some serious zing; thick; a heavy brew.
O: Much hoppier than I was expecting... I thought this was going to be more of an imperial brown ale - oops! This would be interesting to try with some age on it. A good winter ale, for sure.
