22oz. brown bomber with no dates.
A: This is the stuff beer commercials are made from. THe color is like blood orange. It is extremely clear and just radiates orange, amber, copper, and red hues. The head builds up nicely then recedes to adequate lacing which sticks to the glass the entire session. My only complaint, I would like to see a bit more resting carbonation action. There really isn't any to speak of, otherwise this is a 5.
S: Hops. Grass, pine, grapefruit. This really could pass as an IPA on nose.
T/M: Tart bitter hops on first sip settle down once your palate gets over the shock. Grapefruit comes out in full force, but the malts make their appearance and balance this hop-stravaganza. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
This is ridiculous good. If your a fan of IPAs and a fan of Red Ales, this is your beer. They should create a new category for this beer and Big Hoppy Monster.

Gotta love the label graphic - nicely done
Looks like this was bottled about April 23rd 2013, so it's got a lot of age on it now! Bought at the end of last September and mistakenly aged. That might explain why it came across as more of an ESB than an American amber.
Poured from the 22 oz. bomber into a Samuel Adams nonick.
a: Nearly clear dark amber/copper with an inch plus offwhite head which receded to rocky surface foam and dense lacing.
s: Mild caramel malt.
t; First impression is its pleasing silky smoothness, followed by a nice caramel malt and hops balance. Sweet to dry finish. Its 8.65% ABV is well concealed.
m: Medium, silky smooth.
o: A very enjoyable and satisfying ESB-style ale, highly sippable and savory in texture and overall taste. I'd buy this again anytime of year. However I'll need to try a much fresher bottle to confirm this.
Serving type: growler
