Clean this mess up or else we'll all end up in jail...those test tubes and the scale...just get 'em all outta here..." He was referring to the complex super-critical-CO2 hop extraction equipment set up on the table in the lab across from the brewhouse. Hop extracts are for the BIG brewers, he thought - suitable only for crummy sub-standard and barely-passable industrial lagers, not the subtle and elegant craft beer made here. But wrong he was. The New Brewer does not eschew any possible inputs. In this case the mountain of extracts will replace the mountain of hop vegetative material in the kettle thus creating cleaner hop flavors and preventing the otherwise spinach-like mess of a kettle full of super-hopped wort from clogging up a pump or worse. The sensuous honey-like amber ooze was administered intravenously to the wort kettle and the sacrament was complete. Another kettle of Hop Stoopid is once again raised up and fermented on high.

22 oz bottle purchased at Jax in Cumming. Poured into a Sierra Nevada Hop Tulip glass.
A: Pours a nice clear orange color with a frothy off white finger thick head with excellent retention. The retention may be due to the etching in the bottom of the glass. There is not a lot of retention, but there is some.
S: A lot of citrus fruit aromas. Pineapple and grapefruit being the main aromas. There is a slight hint of pine as well. A beautiful smell.
T: This is like a poor man's version of HopSlam. Huge tropical fruit flavors that do compliment each other quite well. However, the flavors do not flow quite as smoothly as HopSlam does. A very nice hop flavor without a lot of bitterness. The malt sweetness is very slight and is whisked away quickly.
M: The feel is a bit thinner than I would expect. It is nice and creamy from an excellent level of carbonation. It leaves the mouth s
D: It goes down very smooth and easy for the style.
This is a nice DIPA. It is fantastic when you consider the price for the style.

Lagunitas is stupid. This beer is disgusting and really sucks for how popular it is.

I wasn’t an IPA fan until a trip to California a few years ago. One of the best memories was a 22oz of the Hop Stoopid.
This batch (6 pack in Ohio) tastes nice and fresh. With this offering from Lagunitas, I actually like the smell better than the taste. There is a delightful pineapple scent.
This is a a tasty IPA that doesn’t disappoint!

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Julian date of 0238, so appears to have been bottled in August of 2020. Quote a bit older than preferred, but here goes ..
Looks fantastic in the glass. Clear deep golden yellow body. Bright foamy white head persists in very good form throughout, leaving excellent lacing.
There is an aroma, pleasant, but hard to describe.
On tasting, it's strong, quite sweet, and although the hops have faded, there is still a hint of clean bitterness. The abv is apparent.
Mouth close to full, finish bittersweet.
Overall, at this age, still a decent drink. Will re-review if I find one fresh off the line and it's significantly different.
