22 oz bomber from a high volume grocery store purchased yesterday. No date on bottle. Its the first time I have seen it there and I believe it to be very fresh.
Poured into a tulip. I love DIPAs and expectations are high.
A: 1/2 inch white head quickly receding leaving a somewhat oily lacing. Lots of bubble size variation on surface ranging from tiny to about 1/8th of an inch. A very nice golden amber color. After most of the lacing disappears, what is left if really sticky.
S: Lots of pine, skunky/musky notes, citrus including grapefruit, lime and maybe others. I don't get any malt or alcohol at all. Smells very nice. High expectations on the taste. (After letting it warm up after almost finishing the first tulip, I am getting a very slight caramel note.)
T: Very well balanced hop profile. Tastes awesome. Same flavors as in smell. Taste is stronger than the smell. Getting a lot of bitter (its rated 102 IBU). Some pale malt in the background takes the edge off of the hops just a bit. Getting some bread notes. A bit of warmth on the back of tongue.
M: Perfect in my opinion. It starts creamy and then gets crisp with the hops and ABV. Carbonation is just right. Warms the tummy a bit as it settles in.
O: YUMMY! I love this beer and am amazed at how nice it is for the price ($5). I love this style and this is one of the best I have had period. If you are a major hop head like me be sure to get this one.

Julian dating on the 22oz bomber revealed to be from May 20th (so almost 2 months on this by the time I cracked it open and poured it into the tulip glass). Might have wanted it a bit fresher, but that is no news flash. 1 and 1/2 fingers of white head which dissipated quickly and left some nice lacing. Interesting tangerine hue in the light, very tempting. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, and bitterness (yes, bitterness... this IS a 102 IBU brew!). Pine notes on the front wave of the taste profile, along with a citrusy (almost lemony) mid-note, with a big bitter finish. Continual carbonation, refreshing mouthfeel, and a slightly oily presence on the back end. This had a nice balance for a big beer, and though I was v. happy... would have to try one that was super fresh to make this a go-to choice.
