We pop the top on our bomber and pour into our snifters. What we find is a semi glowing, dark honey-orange brew with minimal heading and lacing. There is a thick ring of white foam around the edge of the glass, but really nowhere else. The liquid is otherwise mostly translucent with medium carbonation. No sediment is noted. The aroma is fresh and bright. Notes of hugely piney hops, grapefruit, syrupy honey, and a bit of sweeter, light berry fruits hit the nose. As we sip, the expectant hops crash the palate way up front. They are piney and citric, and all that could be desired from something with such a name. Where the surprise comes is in the middle. Here, there is a huge malty balance, and an earthy mineral-like characteristic. Hops round out the finish, but are more grapefruity than anything else. The aftertaste breathes, again, with citrus, hops, and earthen pine cones. The body is medium, and so is the carbonation. The brew is nice and hearty, with a cool, syrupy feel as you sip. It is surprisingly creamy and sippable. It coats the mouth nicely at first, and then fizzles out to leave the mouth wet and satiated. The abv is standard, and the beer has great drinkability. It is just so refreshing!
Overall, what we liked best about this brew was the balance. With this style, it can become a contest of who can infuse the most hop character into their beer. Here, there is an unexpectedly balancing malt flavoring through the middle, which makes an already good beer into something unique and fantastic.

appearance; hazy orange, evident carbonation, crazy head with good retention.
smell; tropical fruit notes are off the hook. very strong aroma of guava, passion fruit and pineapple. with a bit of hoppy pine in there as well.
taste; sweet tropical fruit, the guava and passion fruit are there, backed up by malt and then a ltlle bit of hop bitterness to finish.
mouthfeel; medium body, slightly creamier then excepted, alot of bubbles.
overall; really underated beer in my opinion, great experience, great value, would easily buy again.
