Drawn on cask at my wonderful local beer bar, TAPS in Petaluma. This butts up against my bottle review for the same beer.
The color remains the same for me. A light, amberish beer that is completely transparent. The carbonation naturally is minimized, with two fingers of quickly dissipating bubbleage.
The smell is slightly muted. I'm not overwhelmed by hoppy notes though they remain present. The nose presents a more balanced brew than its bottled field-o-flowers brother.
Sweet, beautiful, creamy mouthfeel. This is why I love cask my friends, it turns any beer into the easiest drink you've poured down ya'.
Ultimately this is a toned down version of Hop Stoopid, which isn't a bad thing. There are still the all important citrus and pine notes of the hops but they are balanced by a strong malt backbone. The hops almost take on a complimentary character, with hints of bitter greens as opposed to their powerful body in the bottled beer.
Easily, and dangerously drinkable. Long live the cask!

A - clear amber, frothy one finger head fades to film.
S - tropical fruit salad, mango, floral hops.
T - on money, fruit salad still, pineapple, hops to the fore and well balanced. Little bittering hops makes easy drinking. Good malt backbone. Hint grapefruit / pine. Overall quite a moderate taste level.
M - medium weight, moderate carbonation. One stage from oily. No hint of ABV save a little warmth.
O - excellent effort, well balanced beer, not as in your face as I would have expected.
