Oily and pungent yet creamy DIPA
A: Medium pumpkin/goldenrod body with a regenerative, lacing, and fairly persistent one finger off white head.
S: Very impressive off the pour, before I was in analysis mode. Now, it's settled out to a moderately aromatic sweet, doughy caramel body with a topping of citric, spicy hops. This is almost undoubtedly a freshness issue.
T: Similar to the nose, but the hops are coming out a bit better. The hops I speak of are oily, green, and pungent, representing a good, complex blend of resinous pine, citrus, and floral notes. There's gotta be some Amarillo and Simcoe in there. Somewhat reminiscent of the the signature FFF hop profile. Malt is a pretty typical sweet, creamy caramel, on the lighter side.
M: Medium to full body, creamy, with a bit of grainy texture.
O: Very inspired by these less than fresh results... will have to seek out and try again.
