22 oz bottle from the Utah system, knowing them it has sat around at room temperature for a long time. Anyway, here's to getting a DABC that respects us.The bottle had an interesting story about a flaming carcass, but I did not see a bottled date (booo). This beer was poured into my beer goblet.
Appearance: Floaties in the bottle I can see, but none yet in this light copper colored beer. The head only got to half a finger high and settled pretty quickly almost like soda. At 8 ABV has some alcohol legs but no lacing.
Smell: As you might expect, hops dominate. I smell orange and other general citrus with some pine notes as well. A hint of toasted malts hide behind all the hops. I get a hint of alcohol also.
Taste: The taste starts out somewhat sweetly from the maltiness. There is just enough to even out the crazy amount of bitterness that squats on the extremely long finish.
Mouthfeel: Almost creamy, a solid hearty but not overbearing beer. The carbonation is below medium.
Overall: I am not sure that this one is regularly available from the Utah system, if it were and I knew it were fresh I would get this more often. This is solidly in the "Do not give to noobs" category.

The 22 ounce bomber just seemed to call out to me at Liquor Barn - how can you go wrong with "Hop Stoopid". Turns out I didn't. Enjoyed this with an Italian meal. The hop aroma with the mix or citrus and pine was almost overwhelming and the flavor profile didn't let me down. Although the label claims 102 IBU, the sweet malt backbone still comes through with a very nice balance between the hop and malt. This stood up quite well to spicy Italian food but I think it would be good with just about anything.
Overall this is just a very nice Imperial IPA that I will purchase again.
