Served in a 22 oz. bomber...
A - Golden copper (SRM 9) hues with lots of carbonic activity! The frothy sudsy head pours slightly off-white in appearance and finger-thick in density. The stability of the head is quite impressive and it takes awhile for the well-built froth to fizzle down. Resinous lace forms on the side of the snifter upon swirling; boy is this head thick and impressive! The lacing is quite thin at first, but as the beer warms the resins stick more aggressively to the side of the glass and create a beautiful spider web of cryptic patterns.
S - Hops billow up into the nose with intensity that begs for more wafts! Pine tree sap mixes with a slight citrusy sweetness. There's almost a biscuity note coming through, this beer is intensely, though to-style, hop forward. A subtle honey note also comes through on the bottom, though very faint and if it wasn't mentioned on the label I question if I would have picked it out.
T/M - Sweet caramel and honey mix with a bittering mouth stinging dry finish. One can taste that thick head wash over the palate with medium-to-full-body. Though hard to catch underneath all of the intense hops, there's a biscuity element to it. The hops taste of orange zest and also come with a piney touch.
D/C - At 8% ABV, this beer comes with a lovely punch. With that said, it's an incredible beer and probably the best Triple IPA I've ever tasted! I could sit back on a hot day and drink Racer 5s and Hop Stoopids until my arm no longer could lift itself, though I think I will maintain modesty despite my excitement!

The 22 ounce bomber just seemed to call out to me at Liquor Barn - how can you go wrong with "Hop Stoopid". Turns out I didn't. Enjoyed this with an Italian meal. The hop aroma with the mix or citrus and pine was almost overwhelming and the flavor profile didn't let me down. Although the label claims 102 IBU, the sweet malt backbone still comes through with a very nice balance between the hop and malt. This stood up quite well to spicy Italian food but I think it would be good with just about anything.
Overall this is just a very nice Imperial IPA that I will purchase again.
