22oz bomber served in an oversized wineglass.
pours a bright, golden amber tone with a finger and half creamy beige head; excellent retention and great lacing all over the place. gorgeous beer. well done.
vibrant, aromatic nose is rife with citrus (notably grapefruit) and pine. not much of a malt presence at all. flavor delivers the promise of the nose: tons of citrus and pine, with pine opening up more mid-palate; a hoppy bitterness persists through the finish. a touch of sweet malt evident in the background. a very drinkable, tasty DIPA. medium-plus bodied on the palate with adequate carbonation.

A: Pours a clear dark golden color with a good head that fades to decent lacing.
S: Aroma of pine, lots of pine, with a bit of citrus and malt sweetness in the background.
T: taste follows the aroma piney/citrus bite up front with just a bit of malt sweetness. The bitterness leads to a dry finish.
F: Medium body, smooth and well balanced. No hint of the 8% ABV.
O: great beer for the style. This is what the world of IPA's is all about.

Sample: 1 bottle 2012
A: Golden yellow, moderate internal carbonation, slightly hazy, pours a very light foamy head
S: Very fragrant, heavy citrus and tropical fruits, grapefruit, pineapple, even some pine notes
T: Incredibly flavorful (but at 102 ibu's it's no surprise), reminiscent of the nose, citrus and tropical fruits dominate with some herbal/pine elements, bitter, but a nice balance
M: Quite bitter but still smooth, heavy citrus/pine aftertaste, a bit drying on the palate, but is to be expected
O: A powerful ipa, fragrant and smooth, definitely one to be tried by any lover of hops

Fom a 22oz bomber in a room temp pint glass.
A- clear golden-light orange color with a mega three-finger head and lots of sticky lacing.
S- citrus and pine hops battle to the finish. Dry and oily resin aroma as well.
T-Liqiud pine hops cascade accross the palate to start. Smooth citrus hop flavors follow. A dry hop bitterness finish. Yummy.
M- medium, with decent carbonation. Slightly oily and dry. I thought that it may be thicker.
O- 102 I.B.U. for U is BEEE-U-T-FULL!!
This is agood looking, tasting, and smelling beer that hides it's 8.0% abv with aroma and flavor. A drinkable winner.

This was my first beer from Lagunitas and I enjoyed it a lot. Im in an alcohol controlled state and I can still pick up a 22 oz bottle at a local store for $5.50
The moment I started pouring this stuff out the smell just hit me. There was no need at all to put your nose up to it.
Most bitter beer I have had before this is either arrogant bastard or nugget nectar. They are all pretty close, but I think the Hop Stoopid has them beat by a bit. After the 3rd/4th sip it starts to even out real nice. Hop heads will enjoy this one
Will be buying this again for sure!
