Overall a nice enjoyable ale. I personally am not thrilled with it but it does not disappoint. The coloris agolden yellow. Pours with a nice fine dense head. The aroma is grassy and hoppy. The taste is essentially an ale. Nothing more. It has good body and depth.

Appearance - Clear golden honey. Very inviting. 1 finger of head settled very quickly.

Smell - Floral & citrus.

Taste - Blown away by the bitterness! As expected, at 102 IBU, they aren't kidding around with this one. Although that's nice, underlying flavors are few and far between. Some grapefruit-like flavor comes through, but that's about it. Sadly, this looks to be a one-trick pony (on the bright side, it is a cool trick).

Mouthfeel - Light carbonation. Thin but not weak. Finishes very clean & very dry. I like it.

Overall - I'd drink it again, but I won't be rushing out to buy it. Lagunitas makes other brews that I love, and I will stick with those.

Ticking my way through the "Beers of Fame" entries that I missed.

A: Poured down the middle into a Port City tulip and conjured up about a 2 finger head or so with a crystal clear reddish-gold hued liquid below it.

S: Much more sugar-laced and yeasty than I was expecting, but still a nice piney air freshener.

T: Not extremely piney and bitter like "Lagunitas Sucks," but still nicely done. Didn't taste like an DIPA at all, more like a slightly more souped up Bell's "Two-Hearted" or something. Very good.

M: Once again, it didn't read DIPA to me. Not extreme enough for that. A bit more sugary than most high rated West Coast DIPAs, but still had the low carbonation bill for that. A fair amount of webby lacing.

O: I dug this one, and for only $4.99, the price was right!

poured from a bomber into an over-sized wine goblet

after trying and becoming addicted to Sucks, i felt i had to go see the other DIPA that lagunitas lovers rave about.

after trying this beer, i still have to give it to Sucks, even though this is a fine brew in and of itself. nice color and clarity with pleasing carbonation and flavor make it solid. the hop extract was a new experience for me and while i enjoy the taste of whole cones as opposed to extract, this beer is a good bargain for $5 a bomber.

Pours a golden honey color. Smells hoppy yet also some sweet with pine notes. A little thicker creamy head for an IPA-ish beer. Lots o' bubbles. It tastes pretty much like it smells, hints of pine and fruit notes along with a strong and bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel is excellent, fizzy but pleasant and refreshing. Overall, I liked this beer. Not what I was expecting from the name, but probably something i would drink more of if it were on tap in my area.
