22 oz. bottle, a little less than a month old

A: Really pretty. Obviously an extremely filtered beer. Nice deep orange color, totally translucent, I can see through the beer with no problem at all. Fingers worth of a good looking eggshell colored head, doesn't go away. Really sticky webby lacing leaves evidence of every sip taken. Active carbonation makes it's way up the glass the whole time.

S: Wow, super "west coast." Mega citrus hop notes dominate the nose. Grapefruit, orange, mary jane, and almost a strange hint of vanilla. No malt comes through in the nose. All out hop assault on your sense of smell. The nose really lives up to the name.

T: Follows up the nose. This is an extremely bitter beer, but never overpowering. The balance is straight artwork. Obviously hop forward, but malty enough to keep the hops in check. I get bitterness all the way across my palate, but there's always a hint of malt sweetness to keep it from ruining my taste buds. Finishes with faint notes of onion and garlic. No hints of that 8% abv at all.

M: Pretty spot on for the style, but maybe just a tad bit on the thin side. Creamy, on the full side of medium. Perfect carbonation. Goes down smooth.

O: Hop Stoopid lives up to it's name, and it's reputation as one of, if not the best value in the IPA/DIPA market today. Easily accessible, seems to always be pretty fresh, and the value CANNOT be beat. I paid $4.99 for this bottle, hard to beat that. I've tried most of the big name IPAs and DIPAs, and Hop Stoopid could compete with most of them. I don't usually like to compare beers to each other, but Hop Stoopid really does taste pretty damn close to Pliny. Just a little more malty and not quite as dry, so if you want to try Pliny but can't get your hands on any, just go down to the corner market and pick yourself up some Hop Stoopid, it's about half the price for a beer that's world class...in my opinion. Now if only Lagunitas would put this beer out in 6 packs....Anyways, I'm rambling. Hop Stoopid is an A beer, if you haven't tried it then stop reading this review and get your ass out there and get some!

Not really an IPA, yet alone a DIPA kind of guy. They only reason I drink one if it has a good score from this site, hope you guys didn't let me down.

And once again, you guys didn't let me down..

Had this out of a pint

A: It poured a deep amber-honey color, had a thin off white head and had good amounts of lacing.

S: Smells earthy, yeasty, flowery, hoppy, very hoppy, as expected

T: Starts off fairly sweet, honeyish, followed by a bitter hop counter attack, super bitter aftertaste but its bearable, even for me, its a nice counter balance

M: Moderate carbonation, kind of a dry feeling, its crisp and refreshing though, its rich, complex, has a very strong hop aftertaste but again that's the style and its not offensive.

O: Its a pretty stand up beer, its laid back and rich, its complex, aromatic, but as the name implies, its super enriched with hops so if that's not you, then you might not like it. Its not me either but I' enjoyed it so I recommend this beer.

One of my gateway beers into craft beer, but haven't had it since and boy, do I regret it. What a great looking beer. Clear, golden orange with a tall fluffy white head. Lacing left all around the glass. Tropical fruit notes, piney and floral notes abound in both the nose and taste. Goes down smooth with a perfect balance of bitterness. Definitely will try to have this one more often.

Had this beer on sale. Reviewed it back in January, but I had a suspicion the bottle was old. Re reviewing for science.

A: Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange/copper. Three fingers beige white head. Retention is moderate. Excellent lacing. Moderate carbonation.

S: Juicy hops. Lot of pineapple and tropical fruit here. Spruce, bitter citrus peel. Malt bill is also present, with caramel and nutmeg peaking through. Very, very fragrant. Could smell it as soon as I popped the cap.

T: Much, much more bitter than my previous review of it. Big, juicy intro, with pineapple and spearmint. Mid palate is hit with the large malt presence of caramel and baking spices. The end palate is incredibly lush, bursting with grapefruit pulp. Finishes of lemon extract and pine needles. Damn complex. And damn bitter. Faint but pleasing alcohol sweetness balances the highly bittering finish.

M: Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation to accentuate the extremely bitter nature.

O: Damn fine beverage. For two bucks less a bomber than Ruination, I have a new go to DIPA.
