22oz bottle for $3.50. There should be a spot to rate value, because you just can't beat that.
A: light orange, okay lacing
S: the highlight, grass, dank, some citrus, really nice sweet powerful smell here
T: grass a bit of pine initially, then pretty sweet citrus, orange all the way through. A bit sweet for me and not a long enough or dry enough finish.
M: med to high carb, body could be fuller.
O: again, can't beat value, however this falls a bit short of being at the top of the DIPA class. Starts wrong but just doesn't hold it together.

a very clear light amber pour with 2 fingers of head giving off great amounts of lacing. very visible carbonation.
smells sweet of honey, pine, slight citrus of grapefruit, slight hint of a soapy smell, a touch of mint on the finish.
immediate earthy bitterness turns slightly spicy then back to a dirt-like bitterness. pine, grapefruit, burnt rubber, dirt, burnt caramel, hint of honey
medium body with a seltzer like fizz throughout.. nice fizz sensation on the lips.
overall this is a pretty solid ipa with a modest abv.. a bit "bitter only" which isn't TOO bad in this case since there are a few different hop characteristics, though i think it could have used a bit more balancing with floral/aromatic hops somewhere in the mix.

Great Beer...GREAT VALUE!
I bought 2 for $7.00 at Nob Hill Grocery store, bottle date 137 day of 2012, making my specimen here 2 weeks old!
A - Plenty of Activation and plenty of head, clear, not cloudy...very very good.
S - Swirl brings strawberries, fresh hops, mango, pine and orange citrus. Smells dry as well, phenominal!
T - Well...very good beer fresh I must say but lacking when it comes to the upper eschelon of the style, can you say PtE, Citra, Sculpin (single yes I know), Heady...etc... typical Lagunitas profile finish here but lingering hops makes this a marujana hops lover's dream when it comes to smacking your lips in the finish here when fresh! BOMB.
M - So dry and bitter after every sip, it keeps you begging for more...classic West Coast DIPA mouthfeel here BUT...might I say, at 102 IBU's...mouthfeel here would be a perfect 5 at OR around 95. WAY too knit-picky might I add...
O - I'd give this a 4.0 here if were typically priced as most Douche Bag DIPA prices ($6.99+) but at $3.50 a bomber, this is the benchmark of the entry level style! Much 143! Lagunitas!

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden orange to copper in color with some very light amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a quarter finger tall off-white head that reduces to a patch of extremely thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate lacing is observed.
S: Strong aromas of citrus and pine/resin hops.
T: There is a strong amount of hop flavors, both citrus and pine/resin - the hop flavors are very nice and there is some bitterness but it is not overly agressive. There is a strong malt body with some notes of caramel sweetness that really balances out a lot of the bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Very crisp.
O: A very tasty and very enjoyable beer that is somewhat easy to drink. I expected that this beer would have been tougher to drink with the massive amount of IBUs. There is a slight presence of alcohol but it is not overpowering.

22 oz bottle poured into a tulip at cellar temperature.
L - Deep gold color with a 2-finger bubbly, white head. Retention is only alright but there’s a bunch of awesome lacing. Crystal clear with a nice amount of bubbles.
S - Nice, full hop bouquet with tropical fruit (pineapple, peach, and mango), grapefruit, and pine notes. There is also a very noticeable and solid caramel malt backbone that adds a lot of balance to the aroma.
T - Starts off sweet with caramel malt and brown sugar notes and quickly builds into a beautifully bitter beast with lots of grapefruit and tropical fruits, along with some floral and pine notes. While this lives up to the 100+ IBU bitterness, the sweetness complements it and really balances the beer well.
F - Medium-bodied with tons of tongue-tingling carbonation, a sticky and chewy mouthfeel, and a brilliantly bitter and dry finish. Bitterness hangs around for an excellent amount of time, as does the mouth-tickling carbonation. A subtle and pleasant throat-warming sensation from the alcohol.
O - This beer was excellent. It had a great hop aroma and taste that was balanced well with the malt sweetness, and the mouthfeel was maybe the best that I’ve ever had from a DIPA. It had a great body, awesome carbonation, and a superb bitter finish that hung around for a while. Furthermore, the 8% ABV was completely hidden. This was an awesome offering from Lagunitas. Definitely a must-try for hopheads.
