A: Amber hue, but def not dark amber/caramel
S: Smells great but not representative of the yummy taste
T: Outstanding. Can't taste the 8% alcohol level. Great malt citrus hoppiness. Not as sweet as Firestone's Double IPA which is a good thing.
O: Competitive pricepoint and my go to DIPA! Def recommend!

Pours a bright apricot color, bordering on orange. Slightly different than the darker, almost brown IPAs I've had before. The head is a dirty straw color and fluffy. As it falls, a nice thin lace remains.

One of the best smelling beers I've had. Flowery, piney, citric...all at the same time. Faintest hint of honey in the background.

A little honey, some grapefruit and pine. Very simple, very good.

The 102 IBU are well hidden. It's bitter, but it's not like you lose the feeling in your tongue. A bit loose in the mouth, there's a slight sweetness early. It gradually moves to an acidic feel before giving way to a sticky, resinous bitter of all good DIPAs.

It's one of the best DIPAs I've had. Overall, it's one of the best beers I've ever had. Easy to drink, very gentle despite the style. Really a quality pick of the style.

22oz bomber served in an oversized wineglass.

pours a bright, golden amber tone with a finger and half creamy beige head; excellent retention and great lacing all over the place. gorgeous beer. well done.

vibrant, aromatic nose is rife with citrus (notably grapefruit) and pine. not much of a malt presence at all. flavor delivers the promise of the nose: tons of citrus and pine, with pine opening up more mid-palate; a hoppy bitterness persists through the finish. a touch of sweet malt evident in the background. a very drinkable, tasty DIPA. medium-plus bodied on the palate with adequate carbonation.

A: Pours a clear dark golden color with a good head that fades to decent lacing.

S: Aroma of pine, lots of pine, with a bit of citrus and malt sweetness in the background.

T: taste follows the aroma piney/citrus bite up front with just a bit of malt sweetness. The bitterness leads to a dry finish.

F: Medium body, smooth and well balanced. No hint of the 8% ABV.

O: great beer for the style. This is what the world of IPA's is all about.

Sample: 1 bottle 2012

A: Golden yellow, moderate internal carbonation, slightly hazy, pours a very light foamy head

S: Very fragrant, heavy citrus and tropical fruits, grapefruit, pineapple, even some pine notes

T: Incredibly flavorful (but at 102 ibu's it's no surprise), reminiscent of the nose, citrus and tropical fruits dominate with some herbal/pine elements, bitter, but a nice balance

M: Quite bitter but still smooth, heavy citrus/pine aftertaste, a bit drying on the palate, but is to be expected

O: A powerful ipa, fragrant and smooth, definitely one to be tried by any lover of hops
