22oz bomber pounded after a long day of schoolwork.

A: Pumpkin/amber/light maple syrup with a super sticky bone white head. Pretty sexy looking.

S: Pines needles, oranges, citrus, little bit of malt sweetness. The aroma is a little bit muted, but that's because this bottle is a little over three months old. Still pretty potent for being a little bit old.

T: Candied oranges, little bit of pine, light caramel notes. Nice, but nothing spectacular.

M: Medium carbonation with a little too much bitterness. If the bitterness was a little bit more in check, this would be a lot more enjoyable.

O: This is a slightly above average west coast style IPA. The flavors and aromas held up pretty well for the bottle being a little past its prime. The real draw of this beer is the price, though. At $4.50 a bomber, this stuff is one of the best deals you can get for a bomber.

Bomber poured into a Chimay Chalice. Picked up during my trip to New England about a month ago, so age is unknown - I don't see a brew date on the bottle.

Appearance: A deep honey color, only about a half finger of head that dissipates quickly.

Smell: Some hops, but also plenty of honey and malt. Not an overpowering smell and not unpleasant either.

Taste: Very similar to the smell - not overpoweringly bitter, some hops upfront but plenty of malts and honey again. A little piney, citrusy flavor at the finish which closes out the taste quite well.

Mouthfeel: Nicely carbonated, but definitely not watery. A little syrupy, on the thicker side for a DIPA, but smooth and nice.

Overall: I'm guessing that this one would be better if fresher as a lot of the hop flavor I expected seems to have faded. Still a quality beer, quite smooth and it does still have some wonderful wet hops at the finish.

A: Beautiful golden with tons of head and luscious lacing. Clear and well-carbonated.
S: Much more balanced nose than I expected. Hops are certainly prevalent, with just enough malt presence, some citrus, grass, honey and flowers. An extremely hoppy farmhouse ale
T: Hops are fresh, and the taste is pleasant. Notes of honey and citrus complement what is otherwise a hop bomb and a half. The taste is somewhat surprisingly complex, and what I like best is the 102 IBU! I am left with a nice bitter aftertaste but nothing bitter in my feelings for the beer. Far from a "spinach-like mess," in case you were wondering. All the hops characteristic of the west coast seem to join in here!
M: Very bitey, bitter to the end and crisp. Certainly smooth, and sneakily drinkable...
O: I am very much pleased with this 22oz bottle of Hop Stoopid. As a Lagunitas fan, I had high expectations prior to trying this strong hoppy ale, and they were all exceeded. You are getting more than just an aggressive hop bomb in this offering from California's Lagunitas Brewing Company. The Hop Stoopid's name will fool you; it is a thoughtfully crafted, hoptastic brew!
