A - Pours a light orange/slightly golden, nice finger of light tan/off white colored head, very good lacing. A thin layer covers the top and climbs up the side of the glass meeting the lace.

S - A really nice combination of heavy grapefruit/zesty citrusy hops and a wee bit of resinous hop aroma. Some bready caramel malts, slightly spiced, slight alcohol astringency.

T - Not incredibly bitter up front, but very very citrusy sweet. The sweetness quickly transitions into a more resinous/spiced hop taste and the dry bitterness comes in closer to the finish and leaves a mild but enjoyable dry bitter aftertaste. Really just a progression of citrusy explosions to spiced/resinous hops with a dry bitter aftertaste. Kind of simple, but very good! As it warms up the caramel sweetness comes more into play and the spiced resin subsides.

M - Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation (medium, maybe a little less). Very refreshing, as I find most bitter IPAs.

O - $4.49?? Are you serious!? BY FAR the best $4.49 22 I've ever had, plus a lot more. Very bitter/sweet/drinkable. At this price point... it's going to be a regular in my fridge! Tremendous value

Poured into a Dogfish signature snifter. No readable freshness date.

A Pours a light amber color with a 1/4 inch off-white head that retains decently before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and tiny specks of surface foam surrounding a bubbly patch in the middle. Slippery lacing slides down the glass leaving a solid thread of foam behind.

S- Pungent, but not overwhelming hop aroma that has some juicy citric qualities as well as piney, grassy notes. Alcohol is slightly detected that blends with the sweet-ish malts and heavy hops to create a sharp, semi-astringent smell.

T- Solid bitterness up front with a moderate amount of citrus mid-palate and a lingering bitterness in the finish. Notes of pineapple and mild grapefruit. The malt is not as prevalent but balances quite well with the intensity of the hops, surprisingly. Grassy, vegetal notes in the aftertaste.

M- Incredibly sharp and a bit dry. Medium carbonation and a body that's light-to-medium (ambiguous, I know).

O- I remember having this a couple years ago and saying it was too bitter for me. I'm glad I revisited it because my palate is a bit more receptive to the nuances occurring underneath all the alpha acids. Couldn't see myself drinking more than a bomber of it, but I guess that's why Lagunitas went with the 22 oz. size for this one which is kind of rare for them.

Pours a brilliant copper color with a solid two inch cream head that dissipates fairly quickly, leaving spotty lacing.

Tropical and citrus fruits begin the aroma, with mango, pineapple, and tangerine leading to bready caramel malt and a slightly dank finish. Onion and fresh cut grass add complexity.

Citrus dominates the flavor, as well, with grapefruit and muted lime entering into the fruit salad showcased in the aroma. Bitter pith finishes the brew. The bitterness is not overwhelming, but it cuts the flavor profile short. Toasted malt and slightly cloyingly sweet caramel tie the hop character together, but allow the fruity flavor to really shine.

Body is slightly full, with moderate carbonation and noticeable alcohol warmth.

Overall, a very good double ipa. Delicious hop aroma and flavor, not overly bitter, but like some dipas, a bit on the sweet side. Hop character was not extreme, as in some of the more brutal examples.

Pretty Good. Pale orange with a fleeting bright white head. Prunes and sweet malt dominate the nose, with a little hop bitterness in the background. Hops arent overly flavorful, but are certainly there for bittering. Nice and balanced. Initial dry fruit/ bready sweetness falls into a sharp hop bitterness, although both linger through the finish. Nice and thick for an IPA with sharp but passive carbonation. Good beer, but probably not exactly what you are looking for if you want big hop flavor and aroma

22 ounce bomber poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a clear golden color with a 1 finger head and some lacing.

S: Tons of citrus hop aromas along with some floral hops, mild malts, and some alcohol. Nice inviting smell.

T: More piney hop flavors than citrus along with some faint malts and a touch of alcohol.

M: Medium bodied with good carbonation. Smooth and easy to drink.

O: This IPA gets a solid 4. It's not mind blowing, but cheap and tasty. I'll gladly drink it anytime.
