Undated bottle acquired from Bridgeview Liquors in Moorehead, MN.

Pours a clear amber with a nice white head that laces decently, though not as much as I would expect. Fine hop nose with a good dose of pine, earth and dankness with hints of citrus fruit. Light alcohol is found beneath it. The body continues in a similar vein, though the hop flavours are weaker and give way at times to the booze. Tons of pine, plays well with the biting bitterness that is barely balanced by the nice dry body. As always I am left wanting more hops!! Regardless a solid well put together DIPA that was quite enjoyable.

Celebrating IPA Day 2012 with this DIPA. The bottle has been in the fridge for about an hour. I'm pouring it into a tulip glass.

Very clear beer, with a golden orange color. It's a lighter hue than I expected. The head is small and made of white foam. A decent amount of rising carbonation, including a few heavy streams of constant bubbles, are visible. Pretty good lacing.

The beer has a big, hoppy aroma. Lots of citrus. There is a little bit of sweetness, but for the most part, all I can smell is hops and hop oils.

This is a very tasty DIPA. It certainly is hoppy, but it doesn't have a lot of sweetness, which is nice. Citrus hops are the strongest falvor, btu there is also a bit of pepper/spiciness from the hops as well. The sugar flavors are mild, almost like a touch of juice hidden behind the bitterness. The are probably a lot of malts used in the making of this beer, but you really can't taste them all that much.

The beer has a little bit of stickiness, but I've had regular IPAs that are this sticky, so this beer impresses me. The mouthcoat isn't too thick, but you can tell it is there. As you would expect, it has a bitter flavor.

This is another impressive beer from Lagunitas. I'm really glad it is now available in Maine. I'll certainly enjoy this one again!

Lagunitas Hop Stoopid Ale has a thin, off-white head and a clear, bubbly, orange-golden appearance, with some lacing left down the glass. The aroma is very piney and orange-smelling. Plus, some breadiness shows up. Taste is full of pine resin, citrus, orange peel, sugar, and bread. For a 102 IBU beer, it’s just NOT that bitter. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Lagunitas Hop Stoopid Ale finishes dry and refreshing. Overall, this is a wonderful beer. RJT

A: Pours a nice copper color with a half-finger's worth of head

S: Some nice pungent spicy and fruity hops with light crackery malts. Not too much else going on

T: Follows the nose, with pretty much anything you could want out of hops. Fruity, floral, piney, citrusy... Some crackery malts try to hold up the hops, but this is definitely a beer made for the hops. Bitterness isn't too bad until the finish, where it lingers on and on. Alcohol is pretty much a non-player in the taste

M: Medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Certainly on the lighter side for DIPAs, as the resins don't seem to stick around too much (no pun intended)

O: Where the nose lacks complexity, the taste makes up for it with the huge hop flavor. The bitterness isn't actually too bad, especially for registering at 102 IBUs. Plus, at $5.49 a bomber, this is a steal for a solid DIPA
