Man I love the labels of the Lagunitas line of beers, this new Sneak Release pours a deep rich bronze with a pillowy 1 1/2 finger slight off white head that settles slowly almost into a creamy-like mass.At first sharp grapefruit and fresh cut grass hop aromas but they do fade quickly losing a bit of their punch but still very nice.I have to say the hops dont pack as much punch on the palate obviously there is quite a punch but not as much to be expected, somewhat dry and resiny up front with a real piney presence a sweetish caramel malt base shows itself in the finish as well the hops do linger a bit.Not as bitter as the label might suggest but still a solid brew from one of my favorite brewers, keep up the good work guys.

On tap at local Flying Saucer Emporium. Pours dark amber red. Little to no head with tan color. Lacing on glass very pronounced. Taste is malty and sweet with an alcohol warmth on the back end. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Delicious DIPA will definitely try again.

Lagunitas Sneak Release Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale pours a clear orange red with a nice creamy head that lingers for quite a while. From the moment I opened the bottle I was hit with big citrusy hop aroma, grapefruit, and pine backed up with a good amount of malt sweetness. The sweetness is predominate in the flavor, lots of caramel and toffee, but there is no lack of citrusy hop flavor. There is a nice bitterness that rounds out the beer, but not overpowering for the beers strength. A bit of alcohol comes through in the finish, but not too much for a beer of the strength.

Only $3.79 for a bomber @ Cable Beverage in Bardonia, NY (this place consistently has the goods)
Pours darker amber, pretty clear, typical darker tan head, leaves real nice striated lacing.
Grainy hop nose, leads to the expected and appreciated quite hoppy nectar. Grainy and resiny hop notes and I get a hint of mint. Pleasant enough, not in the ranks of the world class DIPAs but at that price, its a bargain.

Interesting beer. Pours clear mahogany with a decent, but short-lived head. Floral, hoppy aroma with pine and nuts. Leads you to believe this will be more on the Imperial Red side. Its not. Lots of malt and caramel, with some woodiness. The hops are there, but very tempered, almost run over by the malt. In the end, this is still pretty good.

Clear orangey honey color with a full inch of frothy foamy thick head that slowly settles.
Aroma of grapefruit, floral notes and brown sugar, plus a subtle hint of the ABV.
Rich flavor of pine and grapefruit rind, alcohol warmth, and firm malt backbone to balance it out. Notes of honey, ripe apple and pear, scorched brown sugar. Faint notes of phenols and smoke.
Substantial mouthfeel, full and chewy, some alcohol warmth, followed by a definite tingle across the tongue.
Good drinkability, but it will sneak up on you.

A: A bronze colored pour with about 1-2 fingers of head
S: A nice hoppy smell with a bit of fruitiness
T: A nice strong punch of hops
M: Mild carbonation, relatively smooth, with a little alcohol feel in the finish
D: One of my favorites. I will miss it until next year as I think i have depleted all of my local supplies. I have purchased at least 20 six packs of this, although much has been shared with friends. A really great beer to sit down and drink 2-3 while watching my favorite sporting event on television

A dark yellow to light orange color, a little ruby highlight to it, good stuff, Lagunitas always looks the role. Big hoppy aroma, standard fare.
Big beer, much like Sumpin Sumpin, but whereas that had wheat, this is just barley with gobs of caramel. The hopping is big and grapefruity, the typical job by Lagunitas. If you're a fan of Arrogant Bastard Ale, this beer should do the trick for you, and its just a tad cheaper.

Had on-tap at the Brick Store in Atlanta.
Pours a clear light copper color with a one-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a thin pancake on top leaving solid lacing.
Smells of citrus and pine hop aromas with hints of creamy pale malt.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Robust pale malt flavors up front are joined shortly by mild citrus and solid pine flavors. Midway through the sip there's a mild vanilla flavor, though with more of a creaminess than most vanilla flavors from oak flavors. The ending is mildly bitter.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a solid thickness with moderate carbonation.
Drinkability is good. I finished the glass easily and could have a few more.
Overall this is another solid offering from Lagunitas. Slowly but surely they're becoming a smaller Sierra Nevada, with many hoppy offerings that never disappoint. This one is worth a shot.
