Though it looks murky while poured, it manages to look something of a pleasant, dirty amber tinged color. Hazy pineapple juice. The two finger head might be smaller in a less tapered glass, but no matter. The head is slow thin and lacing is pretty good.
Smells like dead hops. At best Kill Ugly Radio has shimmied its way into that oh-so-awkward category of DIPA walking the line of barleywine. That's a generous assessment, though. Caramel, butter toffee, candied fruits. Toasty sugar, but not terribly sweet. Thin ghosts of earthy hops and some papery notes. I picked out a timid Orange Crush citric remnant.
This certainly tastes like a dead IPA. Dry and papery. Spritzes of orange zest and residual bitterness. A little earthy, but mostly bitter; kind of astringent at this time. Toasted malts with an underlying candied notion. Faded orange pith and peel as it warms. At least it doesn't taste like a barleywine.
The medium weighted beer is riddled with a weird feel comprised of carbonation, paper, dried resin and, well, paper. Bitter finish is surprisingly devoid of dirtiness.
Drinkable but not really enjoyable. Smeat'll do that to you, I suppose. Tastes better than it smells if only because it was far from sweet.

Bottle, thanks to my son Steinar. Golden colour, large head. Nice aroma of fruity American hops. The flavour is sweet and hoppy with a very bitter finish, but I don’t get much complexity, let alone subtlety. I’m not a big fan of this one.
