From 355 ml bottle (no date) into a nonic.

A-A normal to slightly aggressive pour produces a fat finger of nearly-white foam. Retention is poor, but there is some decent lacing left behind. The brew is pretty clear and golden in color with a stray bubble of carbonation. A good example of the style.

S-The smell is pleasantly pungent with lots of sharp, zesty hops that give a nice citrus bite. There is just a bit of spice and bitterness in the hops to go along with milder malts. The malts give a bit of toasted bread and caramel to go along with a slightly fruity alcohol. Really nice.

T-The taste is less inspiring than the smell. The hops are still here, as is the spicy orange flavor, but they have faded a bit leaving more toast and caramel flavor. Unfortunately, I also get some harsh, grainy components that don't add anything constructive.

M-The beer is nicely (assertively) carbonated with a crisp, clean feel. Heft is medium.

O-This is a pretty tasty, hop-forward APA. The smell is particularly inviting with a nice balance of mildly sweet citrus flavors and sharper, drier notes. The taste is a little bit harsh and rough around the edges, but not terrible by any means. This is a solid, easy to drink brew for everyday drinking.

Bottle > Lagunitas Mason Pint

A - Pours a perfect golden straw color, completely clear, thick two finger foamy head, nice lacing. This is exactly what a pale ale should look like.
S - Pine, crackery malt, fresh cut grass, some big dankness to go with the pine, some light traces of lemon peel.
T - Blast of citrus flavor thats not too sweet by any means, you get some of that mild bitterness mid way that fades to the nice fresh bread kind of malt, and fades out with a good pine bite.
M - Crisp, fresh, refreshing.
O - Outstanding pale ale, Lagunitas is flat out one of the best breweries in the world, and this APA is exactly what you'd want in a pale. Lighter on the body, refreshing, crisp and bright. I could down a ton of these. So delicious.

Second Best Pale Ale ever made. Ridiculously hoppy for a pale ale, and I LOVE that. Close to Lagunitas IPA, without any hint of bitterness. So glad Fresno started carrying this gem. More expensive than the IPA here, but worth every penny!!! Very refreshing.
